Help, 1970s Heuer Incabloc ?

Hi All,

I'm new to vintage watches and grown to like Heuers after finding the website www.vintageheuer.com, but I prefer not to deal over the internet.

I came across this by luck today in a Vintage watch shop mainly catering to vintage Rolex's and Omegas. The shop owner was unable to tell me the model until I searched for it.

I have been researching and the from a cosmetic point of view, the dials and hands all looks genuine (although this one is missing the 'Incabloc'). He kindly opened up to let me see the inside and honestly I am not sure what I should be looking at.

The watch works and I have been browsing at this store for the past 2 years. I am just wondering if this watch is genuine and how much should I be paying?

Would you say 1400 USD is a fair or should I pay 700 USD more for a Rolex Milgauss 1019 ( as my 1st vintage watch?

Ah, to be honest if that is the price differential I'd go for the Milgauss. Vintage Heuer offers better value for money and to my eyes the range of models are more interesting...but even though this is a Heuer/ TAG Heuer site, I'd have to say that the Ref. 1589B is more of an interesting Heuer model rather than one with good prospects for being a future collectable- the real collectable Heuers are the 1960s Valjoux Carrera/ Autavia/ Camaro and the Calibre 11/ 12/ 14/ 15 1970s models.

hi. i was searching valjoux 7765 and came across this post dated 4 years ago when you said you could buy a rolex milgauss 1019 for $2100. i wanted to know if you bought it as they are now worth a small fortune
