·Hello.
I signed up here a while back but didn't really get round to posting.
I'm Craig. I'm 22 from Scotland.
My experience of Tag Heuer watches go back, long before i got my Aquaracer - WAY2111.BA0910 in early 2016 and i'll give some background.
Growing up, my grandfather had a Tag Professional 925.2136.20 (https://i.redditmedia.com/3rL3aVKDC....jpg?w=320&s=61fc747043737facac9458f52295f380) (Photo of the exact watch, when i submitted the photo to reddit), he bought it, i believe in 1989 or 1990 and spent a huge amount of money on it at the time.
He wore it, litreally every single day, until him, my grandmother and other members of my family were on a cruise in 2015 and according to my Granny, his old TH Pro 'was looking Tacky' - it still worked perfectly well, so he got a Carrera Automatic WV211B.BA0787. His old TH Pro, still works and despite my aquaracer, i'm trying to 'inherit' his old TH professional (much to my younger cousin's annoyance). My Grandfather paid less for his Carrera in 2015 due to the pound being strong at the time than he did. I'm sure he said
There's also another background, growing up, my father stayed at a flat in my hometown, and whenever we'd walk into the centre of town, we'd always pass a beautiful indepenedent jewellers, which would stock Tag Heuer, Omega, Longines amongst others and growing up, my father always said 'When i turn 50, i'm going to buy myself an Omega, but when you turn 21, i'm going to buy you a Tag Heuer, Craig'. I thought 'happy days'
I turn 18... Dad gets me a beautiful Armani watch. https://www.marketcrossjewellers.com/images/products/1315557167-70664100.jpg and it was this which lead me to my Tag Heuer watch, slightly later than expected.
So, i turn 21 in summer 2015 and Dad takes me to Berlin, which for the weekend we had, was better than a watch, however, he turned 50 in October 2015 and prior to getting his Omega, he said to me 'Y'Know what Craig, i'm thinking about getting a Tag Heuer'...
I recall saying to Dad 'Don't be so stupid, for 15 years, we've walked past the jewellers in town and you've said about an Omega and it comes down to it and you're looking at a Tag! Come on dad!'
He got his Omega.
Around the time of my trip to Berlin, i was happily engaged to a girl, i spent a considerable amount on a ring, given my income of the time.
We had a hellish breakup and my Armani watch breaks, it still turned but the second dial out of place, so the time movement would stop working whenever it crossed, so purely out of principle, i demanded the ring back.
Luckily, she went along and i got it back. I sold the ring back to the jewellers where i bought it from and got my Aquaracer.
The watch was £100 more than the ring and given that i got £900 for the ring in the exchange (Paid £1500 for the ring originally)
We were in the jewellers and dad said 'Well, growing up, i said, i'd buy you a Tag when you turn 21, we went to Berlin in the summer, but i'll stick to my word' and paid the difference himself before i turned 22.
Sorry for the long intro. (Still trying for Grandpa's TH pro watch! i'll keep you updated!)
Looking forward to being here!
