Does anyone, or has anyone, here owned a GC? I'm really talking about the RS17s here or the calipers rather than the basic ones...

I've been wanting one for ages but every second hand one I see has damage to the bezel, the straps always seem to be damaged or replaced, are they fragile or are the owners just careless?

Also, I've seen several listed on eBay with repair bill receipts, are they particular prone to breaking? I get that they are a higher end movement so a bit less workmanlike, but again are they just fragile?

Part of me thinks I'd be better off saving for a Drive Timer instead, but there's something about them...

They actually don't have better movements in, other than the fact that some (or all) were COSC certified. It is just the way the information is presented on the dials that is different.

How about this one GC in particular ?

I dont think it fragile. And inside you'll get the movement as the monaco24 that you always dream of.

I have no idea how fragile it is or isn't. I never really liked the GCs because the dials are a mess, IMO.

My Christmas present from my very understanding and encouraging wife was the Carrera Calibre 36 Racing so I have ticked off the El Primero movement desire.
