Again, on closer inspection it actually looks better than I thought, but I think either the bezel is on the wrong watch, or the dial is from a different watch. Is there a number on the back?

Apologies, that was a special for Jim and his strap fascination. I am prepared to accept this was customised / 'repaired' by the supplier around the interesting patina. Whether the patina is genuine or not is questionable and he bought it not working. Not sure whether he repaired or replaced the movement but was bought more for the aesthetic than being the genuine article. I like the look of it.
The dial appears to be slightly off from the bezel ( at the very least ) . He also replaced crown and date wheel to complete the customisation - a whim if you will.
The numbers are as follows....
Inside -
TAG Heuer 387
ETA 555.115
Outside -
962 206.

So it looks like the case/bezel is correct, but it should have a grey dial... looks like you have the dial from a 974.006 (possibly)

Uh-oh errrmmmm, i'm keeping the original strap safely stored for the future.... It didn't fit ( too small).... I was threatened by a stranger...
