This is such a shame and waste of some excellent content. David's writing pulled me in when I was browsing a TH outlet and wanted more info on a watch, and this has ended up being one of the forums I've stuck with over the years
I want to say it doesn't affect me. But I'll be lying. Most of my Tag Heuer journey is because of Calibre11 obviously or not so obviously. Don't get me wrong, the forum people still the same. Awesome bunch of people that I am glad I get to know over these years.
The forum is still awesome. Didn't David mention there would be a solution for the content of the knowledge center?
I am still hopeful the content will reappear somewhere. If not, then TAG will go down in my estimation. What I think is a real shame is that DC is no longer really around on the forums. He deserves a break but hopefully he will return one day.
I did see some of the C11 articles migrate to Tag Heuer website, but without any pictures. Same language though.
The C11 content was absolutely superb, both in its breadth and level of detail. I really hope it can be saved in some form.
What bothers me is that there is no financial benefit to talk about the history of watches like the Kirium, so will they care enough to bother?
Well you never know. I think the Kirium in particular does still stand out in the memories of '90s kids, and we're seeing some of that era's style come back. I wouldn't rule out the potential for a watch down the line that incorporates some of the Kirium look. I think we're also starting to see a bit more care given to what made them successful in the past, both in the Heuer era and the TAG era.
Well, I would welcome a new Kiriumish watch, but I can't imagine it. I can't see them launching a new model any time soon and I can't see them reviving the Kirium cos it's not really cool enough. But then maybe the marketing guys need to work their magic, all these revived watches were dead and buried once.
The guys at @vintage_heuer have taken over David's Calibre11 instagram account. Which seems a bit confusing now, since they normally post vintage Heuers from the @vintage_heuer IG account.
That is weird, I guess this proves TAG had nothing to do with closing c11 and that it was just David who wanted out. They refer to the c11 community, don't they mean the THF community
Yeah obviously but I just figured if TAG threaned David with lawyers and hitmen for the usage of the C11 name, vintageheuer would not be continuing to use that name
