IMO "tropical" and water or sun damage are two entirely different things. A true tropical dial is a dial that has a flaw in the finish from the factory and is known to fade or change color over time due to this. As opposed to a dial that isn't known to change, but that has had extreme sun exposure or moisture damage. These are two different things in my opinion. Unfortunately the term "tropical" is used too loosely. This shows some excellent examples of true tropical dials. I know of several Heuers that also naturally turn tropical:

Yes, agree 100% I used to have an Alfa Romeo that had a lot of "tropical" issues with the paint and metal 馃槈
