The same can be said of a great many cars of its era and quite a few newer cars. I recall Clarkson bemoaning the AMGs that he owned.

Never own a modern German car out of warranty. (Porsche excepted, in most cases)

Thanks for the kind words.

I would love one of the 1990s E31s...not the best car BMW has ever made, but you don't get too many V12 manuals...and just look at it 馃榾馃榾

That鈥檚 a stunning m635, I really miss my e24, there are many cars I should have let go sooner, but the e24 is the one I should have hung on to.
I would love to have kept mine, but now that we don't have a garage, I felt that it was best to move it on. It's a landmark design.

A restomod of the Lancia 037, may be not to everyone's liking.

This is a really nice article with some excellent history of Group B Rally cars, pics and videos. Wish I woulda paid more attention to it back in the day.

Interesting. I don't mind restomods, but if they're gonna put that giant rear wing/spoiler on it, they should've gone all out and used the Martini Racing livery as well.

Now you're talking!
I saw these beasts at the ALMS race(s) in Houston. They let folks sit in them, but I passed as it looked difficult to get in and out of for a tall person like myself. The Pratt & Miller folks were very nice.

Y'all take care,
Robert

Yeah, I saw the C5-Rs at Lime Rock in '04 and the C6-Rs there in '05. I remember feeling the ground shaking as they downshifted for Turn 1, really an awesome experience.

Indeed, deeper and perhaps louder than the Champcars on the same circuit around the Astrodome complex.

I understand the folks at Le Mans were quite taken with them as well.

This livery is a tribute to the 'Red Pig', the Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.8 AMG, because it鈥檚 the 50th Anniversary of the race that made AMG famous: the 24h Spa-Francorchamps 1971.

AMG took part in that race with this huge S-Class (long wheelbase version), and shocked everybody when they won its class and finished 2nd overall 馃榾

It was the first racing AMG car
