It's just a matter of time when TAG will release these. It has already happened with the Carrera (unfortunately too many times) & the Monaco so the trend here will be no different. Call me crazy but I think the non-GMT version does not look too bad at all 🤨
I agree with you completely with the non-GMT reference! I'm off course a bit bias since the Autavia Heritage is my daily wearer, but this has something to it. It's far from perfect, but it's actually not looking THAT horrible(?)😗

Autavia bay bronze, urghh. It looks better than the other prototypes, in a vintage dive watch fashion.

Does the average watch buyer think that vintage watches are all dive watches, hence the dive watch bezel on the autavia?

That's not even a dive bezel, it's a 1-12 hour bezel. Since it rotates though, it could be used for a second timezone

Why does the title of this thread state ‘Baselworld’? These weren’t introduced, right? Maybe TH intended to do so but cancelled in the end. Perhaps the prototypes weren’t ready or maybe they realized how bad an idea this actually was. ‘We really shouldn’t get pissed during our r&d meetings’. Could explain why the heritage collection in Basel was so meager?

Yago, if you go back a few pages, you will find that this was already discussed. The models that are "officially introduced" under a press announcement are just a subset of the whole annual collection. The manufacturers show prototypes to authorized dealers in private meetings, who then leak pictures on their social media accounts, and that's how we learn about them. I'm sure there are other models that are kept under wraps that will be announced later this year.

These two Autavia models are ordered by my CO, bought in Basel during the fair. I mean with this, that they exist, but not physically yet.

Glad to see that they will have one in bronze.

Did I not say there would be a bronze watch - although I really expected it to be an Aquaracer.... but I guess they figure the bronze doesn't really go with a modern design..

Yeah. Bronze is not really my style, but when it's well made it can be pretty compelling!

Andrew from Time and Tide's top 10 Basel list, includes a TAG!
Love that he says the Calibre11 guys will not be happy about this when talking about the Bamford Monaco 😁

Another great shot of the Gulf F1 via http://www.roleks.se/bas18.htm

Cant get this one out of my head!

You aren't kidding. That does look great. TAG Heuer have knocked it out of the park with this and the F1 Aston Martin. Shame about some of the other new models.

I agree with some of the comments here... why is the Autavia being styled as a dive watch? It isn't one and TH already have a dive watch in their collection.

Throw in a ceramic bezel, COSC certification, make the size no bigger than 40mm and keep the price below 3k and this could very well work for me 😲

There's a lot of hysteria about the Autavia- whether it be the Cal. 5/ 7 watches or the lack of Chronograph models.

All I can say is...relax. The best time to assess the 2018 collection is to look back in December at the full range of releases and then make judgement ::stirthepot::

Me too! Can't wait to get more information on this watch, such as price and availability. Still very curious about the strap material. Looks kind of foam-rubber-sponge like to me.

But what do we talk about for the next 9 months?

I don't really have a problem with there being a Calibre 5 Autavia, it's just that Calibre 7 GMT picture looked horrible - and I'm not terribly attached to the Autavia, in fact of all the TAGs currently available it's probably my least favourite (though I did think the Cal11 one was in a different league) so I can imagine those that really love it are much more upset about it than I am. I'm looking forward to a quartz 3 handed Monza next year and perpetual calender bronze formula one in 2020. 😀

If this means that there's even a breath of a chance that TAG will produce a proper Autavia GMT then we're in for a good year.
