It was hardly any coverage from anyone about this model, I guess a more official release will come later this year. Cant find it on the TH website either. I hope it will be available to experience when I go to Mini Basel fair in Stockholm in May 馃槤
Yes, the only official Basel releases (including those launched at the Australian GP and the Geneva Motorshow) are here: https://www.calibre11.com/2018-tag-heuer-watch-collection/

The other watches that you've seen (Autavia, F1 Gulf) were not launched at Basel and so there is no information on them yet.

BTW, don't be surprised if the reference for the Monaco Gulf does indeed change to CAW211T with small changes to last year's CAW211R- the only difference being the caseback. I'm trying to clarify.

The box of the Gulf could change too. Here's the one from the press event; although this could be a unique presentation design.

Do you guys think the Monaco Gulf edition is going to be the one and only one for their 50th Anniversary next year, or is there a chance some others may be released? Not sure if now is a good time to push the button on a Calibre 11...

The Gulf edition was issued in 2017 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Gulf Racing.

The 50th Anniversary of the Monaco next year will bring a new Monaco model - for sure.

Video of a small portion of the TAG Heuer press conference at Baselworld 2018. It covers the collaboration with Bamford Watch Department.

More information (in Italian) and photos here:

Bamford's Instagram account has some impressive pieces:

Thanks for posting. I caught the replays on the TAG Heuer Instagram account. The one that I enjoyed the most, was the one where Jack Heuer was in attendance. 馃榾

In some of the photos I was under the impression there was a blue dial Calibre 16, similar to the previous and rare boutique edition 1887.

Anyone caught it?

I can't say I 'like' the new Omega Seamaster 300m, but I applaud their willingness to modernise the design instead of harking back.

I guess it was me hoping it was blue 馃榾
Maybe they'll release a blue one sooner or later. 馃榾

Omega does with the Seamaster what TAG should with the Carrera - the 300M models are modern and go forth with the latest technology etc.including quartz models; the Planet Ocean line are a bit more vintage-inspired with the 3-6-9 dial markers and classic bezel desgin; the Aqua Terra are the dressier line with some modern and some vintage touches; and then there are the special lines like the Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial, the 1957 and 1948 reissues etc.

I think TAG are doing fine, they are one of the few companies that are generally modernist. What bugs me is that I watched a review today of that watch and somebody said that it looks too different to the original 1992 version. So go buy that. Why must the new one look like that one? After all it's not as if Omega don't have 'vintage' models and it's not as if there aren't millions of older Seamasters available on the used market. In contrast the Aquaracers are always modern in their styling - which I think is a good thing.

Maybe the outer material is Alcantara?

An Alcantara strap would be very cool and fitting for the F1. Hope you're right. Hard to tell from the pics, but to my eyes it looks a little different from the suede look of Alcantara. We need better shots of the strap or someone who's actually felt the material.

The Carrera MP4-12C strap has an Alcantara lining. It's very nice, but I wonder about its longevity on the outside of the strap and how dirty it would get.

I'd actually worry more about the inner lining. The sweat and grime from one's wrist (especially in the summer months) will take a toll. I'm careful with my watches, so the chance of getting the outside of the strap dirty or beat up is less likely.

I hear you on the heat. I live in sub-tropical Queensland therefore I wear bracelets in the summer and straps in the winter 馃榾.
