Great video. Really get a feel for the watches. The Gulf Monaco looks really nice under those lights, as does the Carrera Cal 16 I have to say.

From what David's said it's maybe clear that the Autavia GMT hasn't really been 'released', and as such maybe they didn't intend to launch the three hander Autavia with such a divisive (let's go with divisive because Otto likes it) model. Perhaps there was some intention to launch with a simple three hander we haven't seen yet that's more in keeping with the general retro aesthetic.

On the other hand.... if this watch is under embargo why hasn't David asked for it to be removed?

It seems to me like TAG Heuer are regressing to their scatter gun approach of the pre-JCB days.
Just going back to this comment about the somewhat scattergun approach of the models this year, and I couldn't agree more - the range doesn't really hold together for me, and there is confusion between the vintage style and modern pieces, too much diversity within a model name (especially Carrera which is on both, as well as the Connected and now made worse with the 3-hand Autavia).

Don't know why, but what came to mind to me was this clip from the Simpsons for some reason. As if Tag had mixed up all the possible combinations and design features or all their watches and then randomly fired it at the page a few times and released what came out.

I鈥檓 going to reserve full judgement on the Autavias when there is more details. As DC said, they look likely to be released later in the year officially whereas these shots appear to have slipped out on social alone.

Like the previous pre-release Autavia, they look a bit concept pre-production (dial tone, white date window). I imagine they might change or be refined before release.

My understanding is because the Autavias will be announced later this year, they didn't fall under the press embargo. 馃榾

This one is a pretty shameless product placement video (or shall we better call it a commercial?) from their part!

Insane price 馃槻

And it is not even a Chronometer!

Also the case looks like squid ink flavoured fudge. Naff!

I thought I liked that style on the Carrera they did but now I realise I don't.

Well put. It all seems very confused at the moment.

To be fair, a lot of those non-official shots make the watches look pretty bad. But I can't really see how any amount of lighting or finessing is going to make that look any better.
