N THE HEART OF THE SWISS ALPS, TAG HEUER INTRODUCES GÉRALDINE FASNACHT

Today, TAG Heuer introduced Wingsuit diver Géraldine Fasnacht as a "Friend of the brand" in Switzerland. The announcement was made in the mountains, to coincide with the International Alpine Film Festival at Les Diablerets where Géraldine is presenting her film "MATTERHORN: the Bird-Woman's Dream" documenting her spectacular jump from the peak of Switzerland's iconic mountain: the Matterhorn (4,478 metres in altitude). An exceptional feat which was long in the planning.

One of life's thrill-seekers, Géraldine – who was born in the Swiss Canton of Vaud – is celebrated as a champion and one of the leading experts in snowboarding and base jumping. She has been competing for 12 years, including 8 years on the International Freeride circuit. She has won 11 international competitions and is three-time champion of the Verbier X-treme event, for which she also acts as an ambassador.

At a simple and joyful event marked by respect, Géraldine was welcomed into the TAG Heuer family of ambassadors and friends by Jean-Claude Biver, company CEO and President of the LVMH Group Watch Division.

TAG Heuer organised this symbolic event in conjunction with its partner Boutique Lionel Meylan, the highest boutique in French-speaking Switzerland – at the summit of the Glacier 3000.

"It was snowboarding which sparked my desire to really discover the mountains. It's like surfing an endless wave. For me, happiness is drawing lines down my favourite mountains, the wide open spaces, the freedom..."

In 1998, Géraldine discovered her love of the air through skydiving, then base jumping (diving off cliffs). Géraldine finds a perfect parallel to her first passion – snow – by drawing lines in the sky and along the mountainside in her wingsuit. Nowadays, she is happy to share her passions at her conferences, to realise her dreams. Conquering new heights snowboarding and base jumping. Lasting several months, her expeditions have taken her to both Poles, from Baffin Island in the North (Arctic) to Queen Maud Land in the South (Antarctica).

This is my favourite Wingsuit video- crazy

Great respect for the control and the courage those athletes have. But for
myself, I prefer to stay on the tarmac.
There I have my seatbelt and my airbag.
(Not used so far.)

Cheers
Werner
