Gents, please keep the discussion focused on the watch itself. No need to get abusive towards Alec, no matter what you think of him, his work or his association with TAG Heuer.

We sorry boss, you know we like to have fun here 😁 in this case there has been some positive things about him though so I think we are improving 😗

I would actually like one, honestly. But the fact that I only make 49 000 SEK (approx 5700 USD) per month means I have very limited means to save up for new watches. At the moment my watch budget is aiming to cover both my first TH and my next Breitling (you might know Im a Breitling lover in the heart as well).

So I cant really motivate the purchase no 😬
Try to live on student finance and you'll soon appreciate your salary a bit better😉

Judging by his Instagram feed, Millennials seem to be the core of Alec's fan-base. I am honestly curious, would there be less polarizing opinions if instead of a guy, an artist such as this were to be female? 😕

I tend to think so and have come to believe that there probably wouldn't be so much visceral reactions if that were to be the case.

To have a face might be an advantage...

'Only $5700'... Jim, seriously... that's a very good wage for most people. Are you sure you're not Alec?

Oh shit I should never have written a positive thing about this guy, everyone will keep assuming I am Alec Monopoly 👎 Lugduno can confirm that Im also active IN SWEDISH on klocksnack.se which would at least lower the chance of me actually being him 😁

And yes of course I know, it was not that I was complaining about my salary what I should have said is that, like everything, its about priorities. Family comes first and for my watch budget I save 4000 sek (480 USD) per month.

Haha well, I can just say that you indeed are writing in Swedish from time to time, whether you actually are Alec Monopoly or not is something I can't know anything about😉.

With that said I think it's hard to compare wages by just translating them to a third-party currency. For quite a few countries a salary of that would be absolutely magic but if you also have to spend it on family, hobbies, housing and transportation in a larger Scandinavian city it will dissapear magically. So I support you Jim!😉

This. There was some research I read recently comparing wages and living standards in different parts of the UK. Although people in London supposedly enjoyed much higher salaries (up to £20k per annum higher), the cost of housing and other goods meant they were actually worse off than those earning less in some of the other big cities.

I never thought about the cost of living in Sweden to be fair... also I don't understand why people go to London to work. Yes you can get a higher salary, maybe 30% higher, but your house will cost you 100% more. Doesn't add up to me.

Living costs in Sweden (and Scandinavia overall) is insane, but maybe not London insane. A friend of mine moved to London over the summer to work and managed to rent a place cheap from family. But he still went minus that summer although he was working like crazy, living costs yet again. Easy to say that he didn't buy any watch during that time...😉

Looks like the Alec Monopoly F1 is sold out...
Interesting! I saw the Alec Monopoly edition of the Carrera in the stores recently, so maybe the higher price tag scares away prospective buyers...

I'm slightly surprised JCB didn't dress up as Santa Claus, that would have made a great card!
