Check out this photo by Watchonista. The Autavia is def one of the nicest chronographs out there. You can argue about case diameter, thickness etc. but in the end it’s simply a stunning watch. Unfortunately it’s very much for people in the know. For some reason TH has marketed the Carrera as the racing watch over the past decades, overshadowing the Autavia and it’s true racing heritage. The Carrera then again has been spread so wide the message is blurred. Oh and then there’s the Formula 1 watch, heavily marketed with Max Verstappen. They should really scrap that line imo.
No brand’s racing heritage is as profound as TH’s but it seems they simply can’t get their assortment and communication right. Omega does that a hell of a lot better.
If you’re in it for the value or investment, stay clear of TH, that’s for sure. But Omega also wouldn’t be my bet. Way too many LE’s.
Despite all of the above and however happens to own the brand I’m in it for the heritage. No matter the value now or in the future.
