For those that have seen the watch, how does the flattened off lug section look? This seems a bit clumsy compared to the original:

As with the 1986 model, the distinctive case shape is more evident in the silver steel version than in the black DLC steel case or in the coloured bio-polyamide versions, but it doesn't bother me at all, not even in the silver steel version. It's part of the watch's strong personality 👍🏼

I neeed to leave some space just in case something special turns up.
This is me. I'm getting the Monza releases and really tempted by Singapore and Mexico City.....but I need to leave a space for a future Katayama or Senna release and my dedicated Formula 1 watch box is getting full!

Interesting commentary, doesn’t mention the biggest issue for me - the flattened off section of case over the lugs looking weird. The hour hand definitely could be a smidge longer but looks better on the Miami than the others. I’m kinda ok with the pricing, $400 is way low given the quality improvements and general industry pricing over the last 30 years, maybe $1000-1200 would have been better?
I think $1,200 would've been the sweet spot. But from what I understand they are selling really well anyway...so what do I know? I still bought the white one, like a sucker.

I think my issue is it doesn’t look like the case shape of the original. Maybe they should market it as styled after a F1 cars aero, then I’d love it.

If it were priced closer to $1000, I'd probably eventually buy at least two.

I went to see the three currently released, they all look nice. Not sure which one I'd choose.

I think TAG could kill two birds with one stone. Release a Senna model exactly in the OG Katayama's colors and change the crystal to have the "Ayrton Senna" signature in place of "Ukyo Katayama". Or perhaps to make it more unique, give it a green strap instead of red.

I love the idea, and also the “Ayrton Senna” signature on the crystal 👍🏼

To make it even more interesting, it should come with three different rubber straps, matching the colours of Ayrton’s helmet (and case/bezel/dial of this version): yellow, green, and blue 💛💚💙

I’m quite surprised the Miami edition is still available online, thought it would have sold out by now. Priced too high?

It’s sold out in my market since April 29th.

It appeared as available again the next day for a few hours, but since April 30th, it has been listed as out of stock online.

It seems they allocate a certain number of pieces for each market, and in some countries they are sold out while in others there are still pieces left. I’m surprised that, in online sales, the stock is divided by country rather than being a global stock.

At the TAG Heuer boutique in Barcelona, they confirmed to me -when I picked mine up on May 2nd- that they would only receive the six assigned to them, and that they were sold out on the first day of pre-sale, April 29th.

The price of the Miami GP seems reasonable compared to the other versions and considering its black DLC steel finish on case and buckle, which always tends to represent a premium over standard steel (or over a plastic case). In fact all F1 Solargraph with steel bracelet have the same price (1850€) and all versions on rubber strap have also the same price (1750€) regardless of whether they are limited or regular editions, and regardless of the material and finish of the case

Good thing you ordered when you did! Do you plan to pick up other models too?

I thought it was particularly reasonable! It’s a shame it’s a LE not a regular edition because I think this is one of the best looking.

Still available in the UK today:

wow, amazing, most markets sold out in a couple of hours and were available for a couple of hours the next day but were all soldout permanently since then. This all black DLC could be a dark horse LE as it looks much more premium in real life. Though its available in "greater" numbers compared to the rest of the LE baring the green bezel steel one. Barcelona version will be hot as well.

Yes! I was lucky to visit the TAG Heuer boutique in Barcelona the same day that pre-sales started, and booking the last Miami GP they had! 😅 I didn’t expect that they were going sold out so quickly in my country 😳

I plan to buy just the red rubber strap FT8086 of the all-red regular version (available on September 5th), because I also love this combo:

but if they later release a Senna version like the one @Mspeedster imagined few posts ago, I'd probably buy that one too. Of the nine current models, I also really like the yellow and black, but since I have the original version of this one (and in perfect condition), I'm not considering buying it.

I agree that the all-black version (Miami GP) should be a regular model. The fact that it was a LE made me rush to buy it sooner! 😅

I photoshopped these Senna Concepts for fun. I'm leaning towards the middle one. Thoughts?

I really like it. But I'm not so keen on the signature going fully across the dial like that.

Nice work! 😊👍🏼

I think the blue ring should be darker, to match the blue stripe on Ayrton’s helmet

About the straps, it should come with three different rubber straps matching the three basic colours of the helmet and watch: yellow, green, and blue. Red colour is not part of the helmet/brazilian flag, so we could do without a red strap.

I like the yellow dial with blue ring instead of the full blue dial, in order to better differentiate it from the Katayama version 👍🏼

I also agree with @imagwai about the signature size: maybe it would look better slightly smaller

Thanks for the feedback @imagwai and @Albert-AMG!

Here's version 2. Trying out different arrangements with and without the S logo and Ayrton Senna signature. Thoughts?
Nice! 😊👍🏼

Probably the signature together with the S logo makes the dial too busy… I think it looks better with just the signature like in the yellow strap version

Maybe the S logo could be engraved on the strap, instead of the TAG Heuer logo at the bottom (and in the same colour as the strap, in the same way as the TH logo is now)

Thanks. Yeah, the middle dial works best for me too. I like your idea of TAG supplying all 3 colored straps, although I'd be happy with just the yellow strap.

I thought about the S logo within the TH Shield (in place of TH) but most will probably think it's Superman. LOL

Perhaps his signature is transparently engraved in the glass and the red S?

That might work too.

It's probably not obvious, but in my concepts, the signature is supposed to be on the underside of the crystal, like the Ukyo Katayama. The red "S" could either be printed on the dial or applied like the 6000 Senna's "S".
