If those subdials were slightly closer together then they wouldn't foul the flange and that would look a bit better.

Get them custom made. I got some nice straps made from a couple of different guys in Australia. One does rally straps on kangaroo leather - that would be awesome.

Who did you use in Australia?

The Monacos are an absolute joke at that price. I'd much rather spend 1/10th of it on a truly innovative IWC Ceratanium Doppelchronograph that I actually enjoy looking at.

The Monacos are meant to be halo pieces to showcase the horological achievement - much like the carrera plasma. Short of seeing these on the red carpet and as highlighters in a showcase event, I don't see anyone dropping 140k on these

I understand that, but there's really nothing special about them. The Carrera Plasma at least had some funky ideas going on. This is pretty bog standard for many other brands in just a price point or two above TAG.

Fair point, definitely the price is eye-watering and makes you think that whether the new movement warrants such a premium

I mean, it's not like a rattrapante is particularly novel... it's not like the V4 or something.

Can we at least pretend to have read Jeff's article?

With the market dividing into two camps — the “economy” rattrapantes and the haute horlogerie rattrapantes – TAG Heuer puts a chip in its hand and declares that it is going “high” with the newest Monaco.
