Totally agree. That’s why I asked for the side shots. Can’t wait to see that in proper photos.
More live pics from my try on.

The new Carrera line will have the same Skeleton dial and case. Minus the Porsche branding obviously. New colours too. This model was the preview.
Hear anything about the price?
The Porsche 911 Chronosprint is $9200, same as this Skeleton. The normal 39mm glassbox Carreras are around $6500, wonder if TH will price the normal skeletons similarly?

So much for the unique Porsche tubular chassis dial then...

Can't tell for sure from this render that was previously posted, but the skeleton looks like it might not be tubular and the design pattern is slightly different. The sub-dials are open and there's no circle on the top around the logo.

Yeah, but... 99.999% of the people are not Michael and when the salesman tells them the subdials represent the headlights they will just go...

And when they tell them the dial is based on the tubular chassis, they be like

LOL! 😁

You need one more for the steering wheel being wrong too. 😉 🙄

I would've preferred the use of the Wheel Rim of the 963 for the movement rotor. Or perhaps incorporate the rim's look into the skeleton dial. At least give me something from the actual 963 if you're going to name the watch the Porsche 963.

Well if they are also matte like this one then it'll be a hit.

@Hubert - when I tried it on my only curiosity was how other straps would fit with that lug design. Any insights, can you photo the underside of the lugs to see if there's anything going on there?

The center piece is part of the strap

Very cool @Hubert.

Can we see it side on from both sides? I am intrigued to see the case design in the real world.

Similar to the Omega's Aqua Terra, liking the proper LE number they are using again.

Thanks @Hubert and @Mspeedster. The case, pushers and bezel are excellent. Very industrial in their design and bold in their execution. Thanks for posting.

Ferrari wins again, for the second year in a row. The Porsche 963 finishes in 4th place. The rain drenched conditions did not favor the 963.

As a consolation prize, Porsche did win in the LMGT3 class.

I don't recall it being that way, the metal bit was part of the case from what I remember handling it

I dunno, it could be...hard to tell from this.

Oh I see, Hubert confirmed it is part of the strap - which is good otherwise you would be stuck with it as it is.

What's also interesting is that the case is modular. The circular/cylindrical part of it sits within an outer case. Both the lugs & strap's center piece have a slight gap where they meet the inner cylindrical module.

It's even more apparent from Hubert's underside pic, which shows the inner module screws into the outer part of the case.

So let's get this straight. They did actually make a 'special' dial for the 963, but they took inspiration from a 60 year old car instead of the current one and the headlights of a current(?) road car. And they made an integrated strap that's actually a faux integrated strap.

Astonishing.

As long as the strap seamlessly fills out the space between the lugs, it’s integrated in my book (?)

I have to say, a well-designed faux integrated strap is way more desirable than an actual integrated strap. I wouldn't want to wear this on rubber for instance so it's great to not be stuck. Of course you lose the cool '963' logo, but if you really went all out you could get that embossed on a custom strap 😎

I feel this watch should've been named the Porsche GT3R, which just won Le Mans in the LMGT3 class. It still uses tubular reinforcement and has headlights that are more similar to the sub-dial lume design on the watch. The color scheme chosen to showcase the car also is more similar to the watch colors.

I think there must've been some kind of mix up. Either the designer got the 963 and GT3R cars confused, or someone high up just made a decision to call it the 963, despite not having any elements from the 963 Hypercar.

LOL, I just like my watches more and I don't want to play the added mark-up game to get a Turbo S or a GT3.
I’m convinced Hubert is a billionaire oil baron.
