What if ... TAG used super luminova coating (or a simple glow in the dark thread) on the strap stitching also. that would've been uber cool!!!!

That's what was initially planned.
The render is saw over a year ago had the Lume stitching on the strap. Unfortunately it didn't make it to production

I'm starting to get quite fond of this. Ticks all the boxes. A 25% discount and it would be perfect.

The second picture is weird, looks like half the case is black DLC and half is polished steel!

This is a Beautiful piece.
May have to bite the bullet and say yes
It's very tempting, isn't it?!!
I wish I hadn't seen it in person. Keep thinking about it, but I must resist the evil empire! 😗

“Night Driver” is a pretty sweet name. Kudos to TH on this one.

Yeah, despite nominations for Tesseract and Greyscale, it's hard to beat Night Driver.

The mirror polish on titanium has that effect, it can reflect light and appear lighter than the black DLC finish. One of the things I've heard is that a mirror polish on titanium usually doesn't last. It's one of the worries I have about this watch. I believe it's the first time TAG has applied a mirror polish to DLC titanium, so unsure about how it might look 5 to 10 years from now.

Having said that, I'm starting to think of it as the Darth Driver. I can feel it's evil pull, driving me to spend money I know I shouldn't... 😒

Shouldn't be a problem - the polish is on the underlying metal, which the diamond-like carbon coating will protect.

Congrats again @Hubert! What are your initial impressions? How do you like it compared to your Dark Lord?
Thanks! I like the Night Driver a lot more. The 'Dark Lord' homage has always bugged me. I particularly dislike how they used rose-gold to simulate patina. Maybe someday they'll issue a more faithful edition.

I am intending to take the Night Driver for a spin today. More impressions to come.

I hope you're right. Unless I'm mistaken, even TAG's stainless steel DLC black watches have all been in a matte finish. I'd love to know the process used to get this DLC clearcoat effect on titanium that allows for the mirror polish to shine through.

From what I understand through the process I went with customizing a Speedmaster, it comes down to the finish on the underlying metal. Polished = shiny and polished look, brushed = matte look
