Definitely looks better in dark blue, I agree. Reminds me a bit of the Carrera France edition.

Same thoughts on the hands and dial combo. A winner…assuming it’s not over £9k naturally.

In fairness most of the time the dial looks dark blue. Only in bright sunshine do you get the flat light blue

Sounds cool then. 😀

Thanks, it's hard taking good shots under the bright boutique lights. Here's a few more.

If the price was equal, do you prefer the Titan or the new Blue Racing?

Definitely prefer the contrasting colours on one this over the Titan which is basically Grey all over, the problem is the price is £2k more than where it feels like a Calibre 11 Monaco should be.

Why is it that I can live with the myriad of fine scratches on a brushed or polished case, but the shiny marks you get on a blasted finish really bother me and just draw the eye?

For example on the side of the case to the eft of the crown when crown is facing the camera. Not the worst I have seen, but it’s a brand new watch.

I really wanted the Bamford edition of the Aquaracer, but there were a few circular shiny marks, on the bracelet and case of the one in the AD at the time, which really put me off long term ownership.

I noticed those marks on the Monaco's case too. I wonder if it's really a scratch mark or something that will rub off. Grade 2 titanium is known to scratch a little easier than stainless steel, but it's also supposed to have some self healing properties, like the scratches can fade with time.

Perhaps someone who owns a Titanium TAG Heuer can comment on their experiences? @Jemagloh @Hubert etc.

I have heard similar comments on the self healing. Suggests that it’s soft enough to kind of absorb the surrounding material in some way over time.

My brushed Titanium road bike doesn’t self heal, I can tell you. It is very easily refinished though, with gentle use of a Scotchbrite pad. No use when it’s not a brushed finish though.

I am interested in other’s experiences with grade 2 Ti watches with a blasted type finish though.

My titanium Seamaster is holding up very well, but it doesn't have TAG's sandblasted finish.

Anywho, the reason I posted that vid is because I think it shows the beauty of the watch very well. Having tried it on in person, I really like it, just don't like the price.

Not much to add (thankfully!) with regard to my Titan. I wear all of my pieces, but I do tend to be a bit more careful with select pieces including the Titan.

Do you think the marks on the case in the video are scratches? Or marks that will rub off? Have you ever seen something like that on your Titan?

Hard to say, but I don't recall seeing anything like that on my Titan.

Could this one in the video be a prototype (or some form of a demo model) that is getting passed around and incurring a little wear?

I have a feeling this has more of a matte finish (closer to the 2010's Monaco; although that was steel, sandblasted to simulate Titanium) than the Titan. Both of mine (Titan and NTTD Seamaster) are unscathed, so I can't comment on their "healing" abilities.

I think in darker lighting it appears more matte, as in this Monochrome pic and in the video.

However in brighter lighting it has a sheen to it, just like the Titan's finish. I always assumed it's the same case finish as the Titan.

Good to know. Thank you both for confirming.
