Thanks, it's hard taking good shots under the bright boutique lights. Here's a few more.20230720_160654c.jpg

If the price was equal, do you prefer the Titan or the new Blue Racing?

I’d probably go Blue Racing - just

Except Graham Hill isn't French.

I dunno who wrote that, but back then it was the cars that wore national colors.

Ah, but his winning co-driver was French! Henri Pescarolo :D

Who then continued to use that lovely livery scheme as a team owner in the 2000s :)

In looking for photos of the Pescarolo 01 I also found that apparently Pescarolo Sport is looking at a 2024 return to Le Mans which would be awesome.

That's what I thought actually...

Well it's still up for sale on the UK TH online shop, so clearly it didn't disappear as quickly as expected

IMHO a looong time. Especially if the model does not harken back 1:1 to some cult classic.

Remember how long the “Rindt” Autavia chronos or the Monza “reinterpretation” were around, including at TH outlets?

Mark my words: People will not queue up for a modern Monaco (let alone at 10k-ish) like they do for a Daytona or AP RO. The 42mm Carreras from W&W 2023 are already at minus 20% to 25% on C24.

The titan is hands down the nicer piece. Can’t help thinking this one would have look so much nicer and ‘vibrant’ alongside the bright yellow hand if it were in a steel case. Why the current obsession with titanium?

Already popping up on C24, this one is from Germany, VAT excluded.

Cos they can charge an extra £1500 for it...

This price actually appears to be inclusive of VAT for German/EU customers. They just don’t do VAT-refunds for ex-EU customers (which means that a buyer from post-Brexit UK would pay VAT twice).

It's really nice on the wrist, especially on a chonky watch like a Monaco

Hodinkee article out now. I like how short, simple and to the point it is.

"The standard steel TAG Heuer Monaco powered by the caliber 11 has an MSRP of $7,800, while the titanium "Titan" is priced at $8,150 – and both can be found pre-owned for less than that. While I'm not going to argue that a limited edition Monaco with a new paint job warrants a price increase to $9,200, at least it looks good and stands out from the non-limited options in Tag Heuer's catalog." :D:D

Went into Oxford Street boutique to check it out. I really like it, but I don't think I love it compared to the other Monaco watches I have in my collection. Bugatti used to race in F1 using that colour back in the day. Might be just a coincidence, but if you're looking for some tenuous historical connection, this does mark the 90th Anniversay the last time Bugatti won the Monaco grand prix by Achille Varzi in a Bugatti Type 51.

I saw it today in my AD… not bad, but I would take the current “Dark Lord” before this blue & lime Monaco

And -by far- the CAW211P would be my first Monaco choice from the current range! ::love::
