Couple photos from last night’s launch event, which I had the good fortune to attend!

The event was held on one of Rockefeller Center's private rooftop terraces, just a block or so away from the new 5th Ave Boutique. It was absolutely stunning, just under St. Paul's Cathedral.

It was a celebrity affair too, with Frederic Arnault presiding along with a few ambassadors. I'm glad I had the chance to speak with Frederic for a couple minutes, he seems like a pretty good dude.

The whole event was beautiful and Skipper-themed, even going so far as to offer drinks in Skipper colors which was cute.

For me though the real highlight was the selection of museum pieces TAG brought and put on display, along with the chance to connect with Jeff and a couple of other vintage heads 😁

THIS. IS. AWESOME. ADAM.

TAG Heuer staged a great event, to celebrate the opening of the new Fifth Avenue Boutique and the introduction the Skipper. In a room full of fashion / design / style / hipster / media / celebrities / cool cats, the vintage Heuer guys found each other quickly, and just kind of ignored the other 200 people. It was great finally meeting Adam and admiring his old Carrera and his brand new Skipper!!

The three hours on the tarmac at LaGuardia gave me an opportunity to start on a posting about the event and the Skipper . . . but it will take a while to complete it.

the vintage guys tried to keep a low profile . . . four of us sitting at the end of the table, nerding out about the things we all love!!

So who was the fortunate owner of the original Skipper 7754 in this pic? 🥰

Guy named Gus, he's actually got two of them 😲 Pretty cool guy, not on socials or forums unfortunately but Jeff knows him pretty well

Congrats, @Hubert! I believe that now makes at least three forum members with the 2023 Skipper. 👍

Gus is a friend of mine, who lives in Nashville, TN. He bought an "everyday" Skipperrera that had moderate wear and then decided to go for the "99 point" sample, that was offered by one of the major auction houses. He collects a nice variety of modern brands and a bit of vintage, and he loves the nautical theme.

@abrod520, looks like it was a great event. Nice to see the vintage pieces displayed.

Saw that Patrick Dempsey was there—not sure what I would have talked more about with him, watches or Porsches… Haha!

Bit too much of a frenzy around the celebrities for me to try to get a word in, but it’d have been fun hearing about his experiences running a team at Le Mans for sure!

First impressions?
Overall it's a good addition. Of course I would have loved a more faithful heritage edition, but we'll need to settle with this.

I'm OK the blue they chose (even if doesn't match the original blue of the Skipper), but I strongly dislike the seconds-markers, and 🤮their patchy concave bezel (pictured below).
