Wow opinions on this release are truly divided. I suppose a good thing is that this watch at least caused reactions in both sides of the camp, this aint no boring three hander dress watch without personality. This is a over the top, for some too much, watch linked to the most non-polite F1 team on the grid. The only improvement I could see fit for this watch would be a 3d engraving of Helmut Marko on the caseback.

Interesting photo, does the red really look that pale?

It wasn't quite this pale (my iPhone camera lens is cracked so it looks like all my photos are smeared in Vaseline) but it wasn't super vibrant either.

The quartz F1s do wear thicker for some reason,

Yes, this was also something I didn't like - this thing is thick

Red past seven is “redline” at 7(000) RPM 😗

Yes, and this is why it's confusing as that is not a tachometer but an hour counter for a chronograph. Once you are timing something for more than 7 hours, you are recommended to stop the chrono and reset to 0?

Yes 👍 you can see the grid box above 5 and 7
Ah the beautiful grid box... They should have found space to add the time of the fastest pit stop under that too 😁🍿

Christian, Max & Checo are all wearing the new RB F1 during the RB18 launch interviews. Not too easy to see in this pic, but if you watch their actual interviews, the watch is clearly the RB F1.

Just seen this in a jewellers window (on the rubber), and I have to say it looks MUCH nicer IRL. The colours aren't weak, but they aren't as circus clown as they appeared in the promo shots. It also doesn't look as 'big' as I was expecting. I know it's 43mm, but the promo shots made it look HUGE and of course it isn't. Funnily enough it was sat right next to the previous model and there is no comparison, the new one looks 100% better for sure.

Also, the rubber strap is a bit darker blue than I expected from the pics.

The quartz F1s do wear thicker for some reason, I can't figure out why. My Gulf F1 measures 12.5mm in thickness by my calipers but it wears like it's nearly 14mm. It's quite perplexing to me.
Could it be the position of the bracelet securing pins? Lifting the watch appearance higher because the holes are low on the lugs.

Also just went to see this in the flesh. It is beautiful in real life, a lot less 'flashy' and bright than I thought it was, from the marketing. The red ring around it is a bit dull to be honest, and the strap is a bit long... Once it's on the end piece sticks out quite a bit. I still want it though, a lot. But I also need to get an engagement ring... Go fund me?

Nah, the case is thick. Very slab-sided too
