Not quite as striking in this one compared to the other video. Seems brighter lighting brings out the "pop".

That's a little closer to what I recall it being. Though the purple metallic dial does shine more if the light catches it. But unlike the green, it is always definitely purple.

One of the positives I gave was that I liked that it was just a new colour without any b/s historical justification.

Thinking about it more, that's actually what I like about this Monaco - it's not at all 'vintage inspired' in its design (even if some say it's inspired by the purple-hued 1553s). It feels very much like what a modern Monaco would, in a way that the standard-production blue and black ones just don't with their white subdials and red needles, trying to look like the 1133b. This one (and the green before it) are their own thing and I really like that.

Purple v Green to compare
I think its all about the light, that black "halo" doesn't help the metallic shades.

The Purple definitely has more face colour than Green..

Light is key and type of light

The Purple i wouldn't say pops more

Sure didn鈥檛! I had this strap on my Polaris and it didn鈥檛 quite work there so I figured I鈥檇 try it out on the Monaco at first.

Yeah, I kinda figured any custom strap I have made will probably have a green lining or something funky like that 馃槈

I also heard at the boutique that the Purple sold out within a day of the announcement (incl pre-sales obv)

Seems to also have caught a bit more of the watch world by storm, so congrats to TAG on a home run 馃憤

I can understand why. As I said before, a Monaco is not for the shy - it has a presence. Therefore go for one which takes it up to 11. I think it looks terrific.

there are loads of conservative watches (see ranger!). this is different, and all the better for it IMO.
