How is it in the metal? I like the colour in the marketing images, but it doesn't seem to pop as well in the photos.

Why do TH feel the need to add running seconds to every Monaco, to me it really detracts from the Monaco style.

 

I think I've been spoiled by Grand Seiko finishing recently. Might be affected a bit by the fingerprints, but I'm not impressed with the finishing on that Monoco, especially the edges of the hands.

Make no mistake either, this is demanding Grand Seiko money (more than some models).

 

Yeah, I was maybe a bit too excited to snap photos and forgot to ask for a cloth It looks really nice in the metal, very elegant and dynamic. But it's not PURPLE like the renders, instead it's a smoky dark cool color. More of a funky dress item than an out-and-out sports model.

Agree the running seconds is so dumb, on all the H02s with the vestige but particularly bad on the Monacos. It's easier to overlook on the purple and green ones though since they disappear more into the dial.

None of those Grand Seikos are chronographs though.
