Don’t shoot the messenger (the Bamford guy is a bit hard to stand, IMHO)… 😜

This is pretty stunning, really looking to hearing @Hubert's on the wrist thoughts.

This watch looks great in some pics, not so great in others. I have a feeling it's one of those watches that needs to be seen in the metal to be fully appreciated.

A few more pics from Instagram. I'm biased by anything Gulf. But the dark one is growing on me.

Is this a limited run? It says special edition but doesn’t seem to say if it’s a limited number or if there is only a certain time period to get it.

I've read that it's not limited in number, but it is limited in production. Apparently only 50 in the first initial run for the US TH Boutiques, after that, who knows when the next production batch might become available.

In that picture next to the Monaco Gulf, I would call it the 'Monaco John Player Special' 😉, because its black and gold combo (which was not in the original Dark Lord)…

… or the 'Monaco Art Deco' because the black and gold combos are also characteristic of this movement 👍

Got the watch!

Looks good in the metal. The rose gold accents are subtle, so it's easy to get used to them. While I would have preferred a more faithful redition, this homage does carry over most of the traits.

I am not normally a fan of black watches in general, but I do think this looks pretty cool. Not convinced about the asphalt effect on the dial at all, though. Same goes for those radial markers that extend outwards from the minute track - the original wins for me in this regard.

I think the best is yet to come!
Really? Any hints? A more faithful heritage model perhaps? 😗

Congrats again, they shipped it fast! Enjoy your golden service award! 😉

Perhaps! Let's revisit this conversation in a couple of months.

The watch came exactly at the right time for me. I purchased it on my last day and it celebrates 22 years of service. A new adventure begins for me on June 6th.

I like this shot.

I expect we'll be seeing a lot of the "Max Lord" the rest of this F1 season. But will it become his lucky charm?

Dam!

All I could think when I watched that Video on the new Monaco above featuring George Bamford was fuuuuuuuuck his Bamford Carbon Monaco with blue subdials from a few years ago looks like a million dollars. I tried it on when it was released and passed on it, not cause I didn’t like it but because it was for me a bastardised bamford Monaco…. Even though it was sanctioned by TH.
Oh how wrong I was. I regret passing on that so much and its has appreciated in price, to the point that I’m not comfortable paying that sort of money.
Mr Bamford, I have a new found respect for your design skills and feel for what is New, Avantgarde and testing the boundarys of design.
Not a fan of the basketball Carrera but hey, you can’t win them all.
