Obviously I haven't seen the watch and as you say it would make more sense if it was white. Hubert has it in his hand so I guess he knows what colour it is. I'd like to see a photo of the watch next to another watch that has a white dial though...
This one is probably a future classic. It's very nice indeed. The bright white snow dial really pops and the vibrant blue accents remind me of the Siffert edition.
looks stunning! How does it feel on the wrist? Is the height an issue?
I am blown away by this watch, very very tempted to pull the trigger
I would describe it as a metallic white. That's why there are some sparkles that make it look grayish in certain lighting conditions, but it's definitely a white dial.
Hubert already gave his initial reaction to the dial, calling it a "bright white snow".
It's not a pure white, so comparing it to a pure white dial proves nothing. It definitely has some sparkly flakes in it that gives a silvery sheen and that's what you're seeing. So if you want to say it's silver it's more a case of semantics, since it really comes down to different shades of gray.
This picture shows the various ends of the spectrum: light, middle and dark. For many people that equates to: white, silver and black. But one could also argue that the Monza dial is a very dark gray, the Ronnie Peterson a gray (rather than silver) and the Carrera RS a very light silver. Again, just semantics.
But at the end of the day, TAG clearly intended this watch to be white & blue to match the car. So it's white. 😉
From this picture I can also see why the nato strap has a blue tint to its white. The entire inner core of the strap is blue. But I wish they had finished the end off with threads the way Tudor does on their fabric straps. The end looks a bit raw and like it might fray with repeated use.
Yes, exactly right. That said, I personally like that it has a blueish hue, instead of being a full white. As it follows the shifting look of the metallic dial on different angles.
I wonder if it would look less silvery if it didn't have blue on it? It looks white here, except the subdials... but I'm sure the blue is bringing out the silvery grey part of the white.
