The steering wheel rotor is pretty cool. What’s everyone’s thoughts on the running seconds? I don’t hate it as much as I have on other recent watches, but I also don’t think I’d miss it if it wasn’t there.

Yes, the rotor shaped in the lines of a Porsche steering wheel is a nice touch.

I don't mind the running seconds. I also like that they used the blue perimeter to mask the HEUER 02 - 80 HOURS footnote.

The running hands don't bother me on this watch. There's so much else going on to draw one's eyes away from that.

But I actually don't care for the rotor. TH lazily reused the same rotor design from their previous Porsche x Carrera Sport watches, but the rotor is that of a modern Porsche 911's steering wheel. To be more faithful to the 1972 Carrera RS 2.7, the steering wheel rotor should've looked something like this.

True, but that design wouldn't have worked as well, as there would have been less mass to act as a ballast on the rotor. Plus the new one looks better!

I’m with you - I think the gold is a lovely watch. The blue is nice also, but it lacks the warmth of the gold one which I like. If I had a spare 20 grand to spend on a watch, I’d be seriously considering this.

having seen a couple of real life vids, I think they’ve done a great job overall with these - even if I won’t be buying one.

I dont mind the running seconds either. I actually think it’s even less of a “problem” on a round watch then on a square watch…

Sorry if this has already been posted. Made me chuckle…

It's just that the modern steering wheel doesn't match. They could've simply place the vintage RS steering wheel hub/spokes lower instead of centered to give more oscillating weight to the rotor.

Or come up with another design that's more in line with the vintage car. Here's an example, the REC 901 RS watch also pays tribute to the Carrera RS 2.7, it has a really cool case back!

Yeah it looks whiter in the video, but in the photos it almost looks really pale blue

What I see is some fine blue thread woven into the fabric underneath the white. So depending on the angle and lighting, it can look just white or white with a hint of blue (what you call pale blue).

What I really like is the “Carrera” font in the dial. If TH made that in the very first collab edition, it would’ve been a blast

Congrats again @Snowy !!! Thank you for the great pictures!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
I think this watch is my favorite release of 2022 so far. ::love::
Thanks to your pictures, I can see that the dial actually has a white-silvery granite/marble like finish to it. Cool.

This was posted via @bamfordwatchdepartment. I must say that silver panda (Ronnie Peterson) steals the limelight from the new Carrera.

One of 40, pretty sweet to see it being worn. Would love to have that one eventhough it’s pretty similar to a 1153. Love the way the mesh bracelet meets the case.

Just saw the profile. Wowza, massively thick, I alway assumed these were identical to the original.
