No thread about this one yet, but it's in stores and on sale so I figured I'd start one, having just tried it on.

It's pretty nice! Wears nothing like 45mm, it feels exactly like the 43mm regular Aquaracer 300 in terms of size. The titanium case probably doesn't hurt either.
The colors are great - the black lacquer on the dial has a nice sheen to it that catches the eye but doesn't overwhelm the markers or hands, which makes it very pleasant to look at. The bezel with the orange insert looks great in person too along with the orange minute hand.

One interesting detail is the crown guard, which pulls out as a unit with the crown itself - rather than staying in place and causing fiddliness with the crown inside it. I thought this would make it a lot easier to live with.

The big news with the Superdiver (as it always was) is the movement, being a Kenissi designed for TAG. It's a massive improvement over the Sellita in terms of feel - finally, this is a TAG with a true high-quality winding feel. I'm extremely hopeful that we'll see it replace the Sellita across the line in the years to come!

Glad to hear that it feels like the 43mm Aquaracer 300 on the wrist. I saw a picture of the 43mm 300 beside the Superdiver and the size difference seemed noticeable (it was more than I expected, but it could have been the angle of the picture, too). I’m interested in the Superdiver, and I hope to see one in the metal at some point.

It sure is. Not noticeably thicker than the standard Aquaracer though which these days is commendable

Really? Do you mean it doesn't feel thicker on the wrist proportional to its 45mm size? Because an increase from 12.2mm to 15.75mm sure seems much thicker to me.

I recently tried on the the H02 Monaco Gulf and it's only about 1mm thicker than my Cal 11, but I could notice that 1mm difference on my wrist.

Can't remember specifically but no, it doesn't feel particularly thick. It may have had a domed crystal which would lead to that feeling. But it doesn't feel like a big 45mm watch, it feels like a slightly more built-up standard Aquaracer.

I have to admit that NOT offering these design clues (especially the handset and the contrasting rehaut) in the 43mm Sellita variants feels like a huge missed opportunity to me…

IMHO, that would massively elevate the appeal of what is supposed to be a big volume seller. And the SuperDiver would still have enough features setting it apart.

Looks like the Superdiver comes in a waterproof case/box, complete with a diving flashlight.

Honestly don’t know where tag get their pricing from. People really must just buy the badge

And it's $500 cheaper.
But it is 400m less waterproof! 😉 😉

Anyway I think the Superdiver would look better on a rubber strap (orange, black, or both colours)

I would be lucky to get it to 2 metres underwater so not a deal breaker.
Agree that it would be nice on a strap.

😁 Yes, I'm sure that 99% of the buyers of a Superdiver would have enough with the 600m of the Omega! 😉

But that much greater resistance to depth (from 600m to 1000m) can serve to justify the $500 higher price of the Superdiver... although almost nobody is going to take advantage of it 👍

Heretic!!

Consider yourself lucky! IWC is already charging north of 10k (EUR) for a Big Pilot 43 three-hander watch with a printed dial… Comparatively, the SuperDiver is a steal 😁

In all earnest: Im also less and less sure where these pricing decisions are coming from… Maybe in China, they DO still buy everything freshly released? 👎 Because in Europe I’m struggling to see the buyer-profile who would (a) spend 6.3k on a dive watch from what is still pretty much considered an entry-level luxury brand (I’d personally certainly rather get an Omega or start queuing up at Rolex) and (b) spend 6k altogether on something that isn’t a relatively easily flippable “icon” (or at least “semi-icon”), given the rough times ahead.

So I’d have thought tag would be worried about longines and Tudor. But they seem to price themselves alongside omega. I have huge affinity for the brand but seldom see anything I would pay for. Especially paired with my negative experience of the H02 movement and, generally, their avoidance of chronometer certification ( I note the super diver is a chronometer though)
