I do really like the new Aquaracers when I have not seen them for a while. In my memory they turn great. But then I see them again and dont like them. So key seems to be not to look at them.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder?

From my perspective, the aquaracer redesign is a very positive thing. I have enough aquaracers now, and the ridiculousness of the new design means I won't be tempted to buy any more.

Although...

RobMail is good I heard.
AlMail is also okay but not as established.

I've probably said it before, but I'd really like to see a Heuer 1000 jumbo or a 1000m deep dive reissue with an in-house 3-hand movement.

The 844 tribute is tempting, I'd really like to see one, but in truth it just makes me wish I could have an original 844.

Went and tried on a couple of the steel models today. They're pretty nice, the cyclops isn't as jarring in person but still noticeable. Very nice bezel action compared to the previous model, and the dials feel nicely refined. I think the size is pretty nice, the octagonal shape means that the 43 doesn't wear super super large. Still, looking forward to the rumored 40mm no-date model.

So what you are saying is that soon we will all like these? But... I had already decided not to 馃憥

It's more likable than the photos suggest for sure, but I still don't think I could live with the cyclops. The 844 edition could potentially be a threat though if the rest of the treatment is cool enough that I can overlook the cyclops... we'll see come September, when they're due in stores.

I'm hoping to get a chance to see the Ti green sometime soon too.

The blue and the silver on the wrist. On me the size doesn鈥檛 seem out of sorts

The bracelet鈥檚 nicer too as has been said, but I鈥檇 love to see how they wear on a seatbelt NATO

I nearly bought one of the new ones, but found a great deal on the now discontinued Calibre 5 black ceramic and went with that.

The new model is nice but most of the updates are changes vs. actual improvements.

The date bubble under the glass is a practical improvement since it gives a flat upper surface, as is the knurled bezel.

The other updates are purely cosmetic. Just as nice overall as the outgoing model but not necessarily nicer.

Blue looks good, interestingly the mashup of parts I like. Would be very interested to see how the 40mm non date versions appear especially if the have the micro adjustment bracelets.

The "mashup" of shapes isn't noticeable on the wrist - in fact the octagonal indices become more of a "detail" that you notice when you look closely, rather than something that initially draws the eye. Not a bad effect, really

I don't wanna be a Debbie Downer, but those pictures are awful.

Lighting in the AD I suspect.

Even so, to me, those Aquaracers look like they're trying to hard. They seem a little bit...overdone? And the case finishing looks nowhere near as good as Tudor or Omega.
