That 'silly three hander' looks nothing like an Aquaracer thank you very much!

Not based on looks but the fact that it's basically the same watch as the Aquaracer Caliber 5 with a different design. They're both 42-43mm 3-handers with rotating 60min dive bezels. Why are they two separate lines with separate names? Why not call the Autavia watch an Aquaracer, and the current AQR lineup the 1000?

I wouldn't have anyone get their hopes up for anything much better... just because it may not have a bezel - hypothetically of course - doesn't mean it'll be a design worthy of the Carrera ethos.

Besides, @THJunkie is bang on:

Why couldn't this lineup that we're discussing today have been given a rotating bezel, slightly different lugs, and been the Autavia lineup instead of that silly 3-hander that may as well be part of the Aquaracer line?
Then it really would just be an F1 on steroids!

(And growth hormone...)

Come on now, lie to me and tell me you don't think this would have been a better lineup....

I agree with this sentiment.

Those thick markers always make me think "fashion watch."

Nice Photoshop skills!

Coming from the master that means a lot 😁 But I just hacked them together in a Google doc by pasting a cropped image of the new dials onto an image of the Montreal Carrera case.

Do feel free to perfect them by thinning the markers a bit 👍

Aw, too kind. Wish I had time to teach myself CAD. Then we'd really have some fun.

Someone tell me if this sounds about right:

39mm Carrera (heritage inspired editions)
42mm Carrera (September 2020 mystery)
44mm Carrera (just released)

Just a guess, but maybe this potential 42mm Carrera is a design bridge between the 39mm heritage editions and the 44mm Carrera Sports announced today? Sharing cues from the 39mm heritage but not as modern as the 44mm?

Curious...

I’ll probably get banned for leaking this info and breaking the embargo, so I won’t share any photos.

You’ll all simply have to wait to see what the Carrera 600m diver looks like. And it does indeed have a rotating bezel.

it also has a new movement! They’re calling it the H20

Teach yourself CAD, then make some connections with components manufacturers, then contract for a number of manual-wind Sellita chronograph movements, then....

Meanwhile, I am downloading GIMP (a free open-source Photoshop alternative) as I type this because now I need to fix TAG's entire lineup.

Rumors are it's more like a Heuer-02 evolution of the 1887 models' design, so sort of?

Is the 42mm model your own speculation, or has it been confirmed with TAG Heuer?
When I am speculating, I go through the trouble of being very clear and explicit about it.

Do you have insider information on the existence of a 42mm? Or did TAG Heuer make the announcement today? I searched for news on this topic but couldn't find anything.

Yes. The reveal for those second models will be in September, as noted on all the articles.

Interesting, looking forward to seeing these in the metal. Green dial with metal bezel is the most interesting one I think. 44mm is too big for me but the upcoming 42mm should work.
I'm on the fence about the new lug design. On some pictures it looks tight, on others the bends and curves seem too much. Carrera lugs are sacred, they should be straight and sharp. I'll hold my judgement until I seem them. The seemingly narrower design and better fit on the wrist are a welcome design update.
Why no quick release straps like on the Autavia?

Piggybacking on this: I thought the curved / tilted lugs of the new models would get more attention considering how beloved the lugs are on the 60s icons.

OTD article has some speculation about the september release and it's similar to the mock ups above, it mentions deleting the external bezel to get it within the 40mm range. You'd have to think he's well informed.
