I like what I see but I don't like the Price.
Just a standard Model at $8500 AUD.

Compare it to the 160th at 1k more for a Limited Edition. About 2k more than the current crop of Carrera. Not sure about it.

I'm seeing AU$8,300 but I know what you mean. That is quite a price hike. AU$9,500 for the model with rose gold accents.

44mm is too big as well but is all there seems to be listed on their web site at the moment.

 

Yes, definitely. Especially the power reserve. Why on earth is that on the dial when there is no power reserve indicator?

Despite its price, the rose gold model does look sweet!

 

The Heuer 02 should also be only on the caseback written IMHO. The dial text is a bit like vintage watches with the number of jewels on the dial.

 

So it is, to be fair the text was out of focus in the pic I was looking at...

 

Dial too fussy for a Carrera, external bezel always a no and it’s too big. Meh.

 

Carreras with external bezels, that ship has sailed surely...

There are ways to move the Carrera design forward without Hublotizing it or turning it into a bastardization of an Autavia with Carrera lugs and a Formula 1 bezel.

This is yet another watch whose design works well enough on its own merits (if an enormous chonk is your thing, of course) but with the Carrera name slapped on it and lugs grafted on.

The identity crisis continues.

 

To my eyes, it looks like a modern day version of the '63-'65 Carrera, but not in a way that appeals to me. It's like they took the organic form of the original Carrera and made it into a robotic form. Having said that, I like it better than the skeleton form.
