I'd love a Heur 02 but based on the Calibre 11 case design.

I for one love the crown at 9, think it balance's the dial nicely. The lack on in-house movement on the calibre 11 is one thing that's stopping me spending a large chunk of money on the Monaco.

I don't know why the Tag Heuer boutique in my country sells Monaco Calibre 11 a lot "cheaper" than the H02 Monaco. While on Tag Heuer website it is almost the same price.

I seriously like the H02 Monaco. Yes H02 is a thick movement. But it is very good in house movement, IMHO. Also i feel like H02 Monaco wear smaller on the wrist. It just perfect.

I do hope someday when they release H02 Aquaracer it won't be as expensive and even still below H02 Autavia first generation.

Doubt it, David only wears precious metals these days. If it aint gold or platinum it aint good enough for the founding father of C11 😎

Hope that Tag makes a comeback of a Monaco bracelet though because it looks amazing

Correct- not my watch, but a loaner.

Maybe precious stones are next?

The bracelets are still available to buy. Were they always an aftermarket purchase from Tag/Heuer, or did some Monacos come with bracelets as standard?

Much like today, you could choose a bracelet or the leather strap.

Most Monacos came/come on leather straps though and the availability of a bracelet is not widely advertised or offered.

For instance, when I wanted the bracelet for my ACM Edition, the boutique were not sure it would even fit. It did, of course.

I bought mine back in 2005, so memory is failing me, but I do recall it being very expensive- maybe that's why it was kept "under the counter". At the time, I reckon the Monaco was around A$3500-4000 and I would have thought the bracelet was A$700? Could be wrong..

Possibly. My bracelet was A$430 a couple of years ago from the boutique. An excellent price, I thought.

Do I understand correctly here, can any model today be bought with a bracelet? They just dont showcase it and customer has to specifically ask for it? If thats the case, I had no idea

Not sure if still applies, but when I bought a Carrera I was offered a bracelet as a bonus. I declined and insisted on extra discount instead, but I was not even aware the model had a bracelet option. There were non on display, it was just they had some. "in the back". It was "valued" at 15% of the watch value by their reckoning.

I've never seen a Monaco with a bracelet on display in a boutique. But I've not visited very many. I know my local boutique doesn't keep the bracelets in stock and has to order them in.

That is my experience too.
