Thank you, can I ask if you are using an iPhone with it? Is the Golf thing the only downside?

Thank you, google pay isn’t on my to do list (never really got in to paying with my Apple Watch either. Paying with the phone is fine. I could probably do away with the assistant too, I just don’t want to regret updating. I’ve read through some of this forum and it’s the best place to ask!!

I think I had an E2 in my hand the other day, a local jeweller was selling a used one but they had no clue how to use it or set it up. “You’d be better off watching YouTube videos if you want to know more about it” which didn’t fill me with confidence. When I got home and found out I could have a brand new one for a few hundred pounds more I was delighted. Used was £1450, but now I know why it was expensive for a used one. Pity the screen and clasp were scratched and they were saying it wasn’t used. They said nobody had owned it but that they had just had to open the back for some reason. Quite an established chain of jewellery stores too. Anyways, you are all doing a great job!
Hi there
Albert is correct there are some features that will not be available with OS 3.
As you mentioned that you are not using watch for payments then the main feature will not deter you from updating.

I will add a screenshot of info here for you.

Ok thank you, looks like I’m free and easy to update the watch then.

I did update it in the end and it seems to be working fine. I thought I was going to get away from needing a Google account on it too but that doesn't seem to have worked. I tried moving faces from the iPhone to the watch and it was groaning about needed a Google account on the watch.

Hi. I am a new owner of a Tag Heuer Connected E4 42mm and I am frustrated because with the iphone I only get notifications on the watch if I have the Tag Heuer App open on iOS. Is that the case or am I doing something wrong? If the App is not open on the iphone in the background, no calls, whatsapp, etc... come through.

On the other hand, the battery is at 50% in two and a half hours. It is true that I'm touching it, but I think it's amazing what it spends...

I have upgraded to Wear OS 3.

Thanks in advance.

Looks like Tag pushed a new system update to the E4 watches - I still show WearOS 3.2, and still no indication of Fitbit support.

I did the OS3 update, have an E4 connected and iPhone. I have also had the same issues with Google pay app and have gotten zero support from Tag store or calling customer service. They claim its been escalated and someone will call me but so far crickets!

I am techy and this rollout of the update has been terrible, nothing short of a “downdate” for any people who have iPhones. Further, when I went to store to try to get assistance the salesperson was trying to make a sale on an E4 and could clearly see the customer had an iPhone and did not warn of the issues. Very disappointing to see, and after I explained the issue to the salesperson, they walked away from the sale.

If there isn’t some relief on getting the option to fully use the $2500 watch, I will pursue other options on getting relief from Tag. Seriously, at least half the users are iPhone users, and to “take away” options on a watch of this caliber…no pun intended…is unacceptable.

Tag had the release notes, saying Google Pay will not work with iPhone after the update. Store salespeople cannot help with it.

I see that now and was told that in store. However, shouldn’t need to have to read the fine print for something like that…who in their right mind would think that an “update” would take away main functions? If iPhone or Android phones took away critical functions with every update they wouldn’t be in business long.

I'm not here to defend Tag. But when I got the email about update, it was right there, highly visible notification, that Google Assistant would not be available (no matter what phone), and Google Pay would be missing for iPhone.

I don't know if you could downgrade to Wear 2, to get functionality back.

Apparently you cannot go back to 2. I’m not saying you’re defending Tag, but we can disagree on “highly visible” as something this critical shouldn’t be in a smaller font or buried deep in the email as disclaimer fine print at end of page 2. This isn’t like an unusual side effect of a drug lol, this is something that WILL happen to every iOS user and simply Tag failed to deliver. Simply put, they could have pushed this out as NEW UPDATE FOR ANDROID USERS…so those of us that are busy, see new update wouldn’t have jumped on it. This type of language would have alerted all of us to beware if you use iPhone and wallet.

Regardless, it’s still amazing the lack of ingenuity or forethought for such a high level product/company to downgrade an upgrade for a large segment of your customer base. I have or had a half dozen Tag’s in last 15y and its very disappointing.

Some weeks ago at night I saw the installation screen. Let it do the job. As I woke up no difference. Still security update on 1st of April and WearOS: RWR8.221020.001.THCOX42.0726.
