Congrats to Ricciardo. Vettle might have won had he not run into Hamilton (not good sportsmanship, I think his anger got the best of him). Cool pass at the finish for Bottas but glad to still see Stroll make a podium finish and his first "shoey"!

Great result for Dan- deserves a bit of luck.

Fans of Mark Webber won't be surprised by Vettel's petulance...seen it all before

and arguably Hamilton could have won as well if he had laid off the brakes there...

Ricciardo said: "Look, whether Lewis slowed down or not, he has every right to dictate the pace. He's the leader, and it was too early for him to accelerate.
"You're not going to make the restart out of Turn 15. Seb was probably just a little bit over-excited."

I very rarely have sympathy for Hamilton but he drove an absolutely perfect race and ended up 5th through no fault of his own.
He left Seb for dead at the first restart, timing his 'chase' of the safety car perfectly. Seb clearly didn't want to be embarrassed again, totally misjudged the pace through turn 15 (Hamilton didn't break through the turn) and then saw red .

Vettel really needs to hold his hands up and admit he was wrong.

Hamilton did the same thing to Rosberg last year, slowing down the race trying to get others to pass Nico so he would not place second and therefore win the championship. He certainly has every right to race by slowing down or speeding up as much as he wants but it sure didn't help him this week and he might have won had he kept up the pace.

Sorry, that makes no sense. Hamilton couldn't go any faster, he was behind the safety car.
Hamilton only lost in Baku due to a loose head support. After driving one handed at 200mph with the other hand holding the support down, he was ordered into the pits by race control.

It didn't pay off that time with Nico nor did it this week. He didn't do anything wrong, but I think he could have won it if he hadn't caused an accident (on purpose or not).

How did Lewis cause an accident exactly? From what I can see it was 100% Vettel's fault, and it seems the rule makers also agree, handing Vettel a 10 second stop-go and 3 penalty points. Vettel used the phrase "brake testing" but that simply was not the case.

by slowing down too much - it looks like to me Hamilton likes to f around with the other drivers. Nothing wrong with driving dirty, but it doesn't always work out for the win.

Regardless of which side you're on, you have to admire seeing the Brits come out in force to defend their countryman. 👍

He didn't slow down too much. Just that Vettel was expecting him to accelerate earlier and he decided to wait a bit.

And yes, nice to see Force India in the mix but a shame they took each other out!

Heh heh, well I'm mot much of a Lewis fan tbh, always much preferred Button. But in this case Hamilton was fully entitled to dictate the pace and didn't make any sudden move.

I agree. Vettel overreacted, even if Hamilton's breaking was too abrupt.
