I've got the 2003 blue Monaco, but at $5500, this one is very, very tempting

This is one of your articles I've patiently been waiting for David. Thank you.

The pictures in it are fantastic. The 1mm size difference when compared to the 40th Anniversary will be almost imperceptible.

Still not sure if the blue hue is different, or if it's just due to different lighting and/or post.

Here are two quick pictures of my CAW211A 40th Anniversary to illustrate this point.

In any case, October can't come soon enough! Cheers mate.

Yes, I put that image together from two different stock images- I reckon they'll be the same colour and the difference is just the lighting in the two photos.

Yes; I think the colors will be about the same.

That said, I would love to see a future model with a brushed 'transitional' blue like in some of the old 1133 b editions.

Here are a few picks from Basel and the CW2113 I own. I saw this model myself at Basel and the color of the dial was the first thing that I noticed. The CW2113 has a sunburst reflective dial where the 2015 had a matte and different hue blue. I've preordered the new 2015, 😉 can't wait.

The X in the model number is just to indicate it's a show piece. Here is the full reference number: CAW211P.FC635

Great photos- I've got the same Calibre 17 Blue Monaco that you do- reckon that I could justify getting the new Monaco given its lower price

I think this is a rare opportunity to get a Monaco that sold for 10K previously. (I'm sure those 40th anniversary owners are not be happy) Who knows what Biver will do next to undercut the brand. Bye bye V4, Micrograf, RS36.

As a JH80th Carrera owner, I was a bit disappointed when Tag Heuer launched the blue and anthracite models, especially as they were chronometer spec. I can understand Monaco 40th anniversary owners feeling the same, although I think it's slightly different because Tag Heuer were almost guaranteed to do another McQueen Monaco watch at some point.

Well, as both a JH80 & 40th Anniversary Monaco owner, I did have mixed feelings when both of the re-editions you are referring to were revealed. However that feeling went away, after I got the anthracite model and decided on getting this CAW211P, in order to use it on a regular basis without fear of adding any ware or scratches.

TAG Heuer's Twitter page was updated with new Monaco banner. The announcement should come any day now.

I can't wait for this watch. It will be my next Monaco for sure. Anyone know if this new CAW211P replaces the existing Monaco blue CAW2111 in Tag Heuer's line up? Or will Tag Heuer continue with the older blue model from 2010?

Not 100% sure, but I think it replaces the existing Calibre 12

Let's not forget the Calibre 12 is not going away, as there is a modern redesign of the TAG Heuer Monaco coming as well. Who knows, at some point there might be a new redesigned Calibre 12 Monaco in blue, without the retro look of the current one.

What is certain, is that if this CAW211P will be the closest thing to the original, since the 40th Anniversary.

Hello folks, been lurking a while, and somehow got hold of a 40th Anniversary model recently, after years of search.

One of the things that I did notice between the 40th Anniversary and the CAW211P, was that the red parts on the hands seem to be noticeably shorter, compared to the 40th Anniversary. Anyone observed the same?

Great catch! The side-by-side of the press shot appears to be the same length. However, the pictures from Baselworld do show them being shorter. I wonder of this is just a pre-production difference.

Photos in the "wild" keep popping on social media. Have some preorder units already been delivered?
