Quartz is not so bad. 馃榾 Sure Quartz pieces won't have the same cache, but they are great when you want virtual-carefree ownership, until a new battery is needed of course. No need to remember to wind them when they are not in use (or keep them in a winder) and the time won't need to be adjusted periodically, like in a mechanical piece.

Agreed, plus you don't accidentally destroy the accuracy with normal usage on a quartz.

At least they could make a meca-quartz (like Seiko VK63): I'm allergic to ticking seconds hands too, expecially in chronographs.

^ I use to have an Autodromo with the hybrid movement. Sold it on the bay.

It tries not to tick too much, but still not an automatic.

So, it turns out that Goldsmiths jewellers shouldn't have had it for sale on the website so they have cancelled my order !! So annoyed.

馃檨 Sorry to hear that. Can you order it directly from TAG Heuer?

Unfortunately not, it's not on the UK
TAG site. It would have been perfect for me, as I don't wear a watch very often but love the Carrera model, so the quartz would suit me more than the auto. The other watch I'm going to look into is the connected. Has anyone had any feedback on them yet? Thanks.

Hi Hubert,

Thanks for the info, I looked into the connected but decided I wanted a watch that was going to last a long period and not go out of fashion, something I could pass onto my son in the future maybe. I've gone for the aquaracer, model no. CAK2110.BA0833. It's the 500mtr model, 2014/15 I think, (think it's been replaced with a 300m model) I'd be interested to here people's views on the aquaracer as opposed to the Carrera models.

Jay.

I think you made a good decision. Especially for longevity, retention of value, and the ability to get it serviced indefinitely. The Aquaracer is a fan favorite as well, so nothing to worry about. You should feel very confident about your choice. 馃榾

Please post pictures when you get it!

That's good to know, thanks. I'm collecting it on Thursday so I'll post some pics up once I've got it. As Its only going to be worn on days off and nights out (I'm an elec engineer working on machinery etc so can't wear jewellery) does it need to go into a winder box ?

It may need to if you don't wear it every day. Or just make it a habit to manually wind it daily and you'll be set. 馃榾. Cheers!

It is alive!

It is more attractive and more substantial than the photos might indicate. More to follow as we become better acquainted...

Edit: Another crappy cell phone picture taken after the bracelet was sized:
