Absolutely love this watch. Wish I'd been quicker off the mark. 000/100 is here. Bit steep, though: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tag-Heue...510762?hash=item4463a4a56a:g:mwAAAOSwJ0tfWlzRPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Since getting a Carrera Blue Dreamer or Skipperrera is a little bit too hard, these actually make the Carrera Telemeter for me all the more quite special! (Almost the same except for the colors) Good hunting and wish you well sir @Ara Show it to us soon!
That's the trouble with a lot of these limited releases. People see them advertised at crazy prices, so they do the same. But they don't sell because nobody in their right mind would pay that. But the seller (who might only have bought it as an investment anyway) is already mentally bought in to the fact that there's a huge premium attached to the piece. Maybe they don't even want to sell if they won't get a nice profit. Hence they won't lower their price by that much. So you get the same watches hanging around on Chrono24 and other places for ages - waiting for some mug to come along. If somebody advertised one of these watches at list or let's say 10-20% over, then I'd snap one up immediately. Any more than that, it's a hard pass for me, though. It still has the cal 17 movement inside remember and apart from colours is no different to the Telemeter.
Speaking of, someone appeared to be selling the prototype from June’s charity auction on eBay recently. I compared the caseback on eBay to a screen capture from Wei Koh’s Hodinkee Talking Watches episode. Engravings don’t match. Listing is gone now, but I thought I’d share in case anyone has insight.
Saw that listing. For the price the seller is asking, I’d double check the source. Very difficult to guarantee authenticity also. For certain LEs, if you REALLY want one, just be prepared to spend big bucks.
