Hi there, looking for an unpolished and correct 3647n or 2447n, ideally an early version with the larger unsigned crown. Should also have the short tail chrono hand, rather than the later longer service replacement.

If you see a good one let me know!

Cheers, David

I’m intrigued about the longer chrono hand. I’ve never noticed it before. Mine has the short one. In Haslinger’s book it appears 3 of the ‘60s Carreras have the longer tail, including the Arcola 3647n and 2447ST. They look like Camaro hands but I’m not sure of there’s consensus about any of this, including of these are service hands or not.

There was some discussion about it on Chronocentric a while back. Consensus seemed to be the longer tailed hands were service replacements for the earlier Carreras. They switched to longer hands with the second execution. Either way it seems to only affect the N models. Guessing the white hands were more prone to paint wearing off.

FWIW I have the Croswaite & Gavin Carrera book which also has the long tailed Arcola 45, and also an 2447SN with a longer tail from 1968. By the time it gets to the 7753 around 1968 they are all long tail.
