Which watch would you like to see TAG re-issue?

With the trend for re-issues continuing in the watch world, which TAG would you like to see revisited? My own choice would be the 3000 series, perhaps one like this...

Surely this, with a Calibre 16 movement and a tapisserie dial would be an excellent alternative to the Royal Oak Offshore at a much more attainable price?

How would that differ from the Aquaracer Calibre 16 chronograph though? Looks-wise it's the spitting image of that one...

I’m only going by what’s listed on cal11 Heuer/tag heuer sections:

heuer:

Audi Sport
Monza (again)
Targa Florio

Tag Heuer
Grand Carrera

I think they’ve already re-issued the ‘best’ designs IMHO (Carrera, Monaco, Autavia, Monza). A lot of the back catalogue is hidious and best left alone. 😜

I believe tag should produce a heritage dive watch to sit alongside the aquaracer and compete with the back bay etc.

I would go for something based on the 844 or - left field - the bund

They've already reissued pretty much everything worth reissuing imo. However, they've mostly been too big (for me), too expensive or too unobtainable. How about a range of 39mm Carreras (smaller is working out well for Tudor), with the Heuer 02, but lose the glassbox, and price in the same range as the Tudor Black Bay? I'm sure they'd sell an absolute ton.

For me the key is using a Carrera case that can handle the same layout and dimensions of the originals without noticeable distortions or compromises.

My preference is the use of 41mm cases, since they already had practically achieved the ideal layout with the CH80 prototypes.
The 39mm Telemeter case seems to lack enough size to properly fit the Heuer02 subregister layout, while keeping the original's proportions. Maybe a 40mm case could do?

Well yeah, I guess you have a point... but could make it look 'more' like the 3000, couldn't they, and call it the 3000 as well...😗

Yep, agree, maybe a new 39mm case? 41mm is a tad big for me, could be OK, but ought to be thinner.

41mm or 40mm would be fine with me. Doubt a new 39mm case will suffice. It's all about maintaining the proper proportions.

Only kidding, this is surely one that would be a popular re-issue...
That Bund would be lovely.

You can maintain the proper proportions with a 36mm case if you really want to! I'll compromise with you on 39mm 😀 That should fit everyone, from small wrists to big.

How about something based on this?

Yes, yes, yes! I love the 6000 series, in fact I'm getting my new one today with a bit of luck!

For what is worth, we've seen the result of the 39mm case. And we've also seen that the CH80 41mm case was as close to the original proportions as they've gotten. So, judging by this, don't blame me if I lean towards the proven choice. 😀

I agree, the 41mm would suit the Carrera very well. The new calibre 16 case also has a slimmer bezel than that of the CH80, overall a less bulky look. A bicompax 02 Carrera like the new Viceroy would be my pick. Preferably a 7753NS or NST reversed panda. However the subdials would have to be a tad smaller than the Viceroy to achieve the desired look.
