Funnily enough my other half really likes the look of the leather band on the BB58, and mentioned I should purchase it for mine. Now I like the clasp, but not how the strap tail is opposite to how normal straps are. Now I understand its to do with the clasp (& many Grand Seikos do this). Does this bother you? Can it be worn the other way?

I couldn't get used to it, or get a comfortable fit, and ended up selling the strap I'd bought for the BB58.

Honestly I hadn’t noticed that the strap tail points the opposite direction, I just put it on my wrist (most mornings) and think how great it looks on the leather strap. Most of my watches are on deployants or bracelets thou, so I don’t often wear something on a traditional strap - maybe why it doesn’t bother me.

The deployant is worth a mention, it’s beautifully made and super precise, each stage secured by a pair of ceramic ball bearings. My only complaint is lack of micro adjust, I ended up punching an extra hole in the leader in between two of the factory holes.

Today on the wrist: Dan Henry 1964 silver dial. The movement is just a standard Seiko mecaquartz but the bang for buck when it comes to the dial and overall aesthetic is very impressive. A nice tribute to early Carreras, 321 Seamaster chronographs etc.

I’n tempted to pick of the reverse panda variants next…bicompax version in particular looks good!

Calibre 1887 is the only choice if you want a Tag Heuer with manufacture movement, date and not in 43mm, 44mm or 45mm 😉
