Yes, using it with the proper watchfaces (mainly from the WatchMaker app, because then you can always see a watch face and not a black screen or a basic skeleton watch face), it looks more like a high-end watch which is smart, other than “just” a high-end smartwatch. This picture, for instance, shows the screen in ambient/dimmed mode, so even when the watch is “sleeping”, you can see a real watch face.

In fact, all the available Modular straps and bracelets (rubber, calfskin, black ceramic, and titanium) and buckles for the TH Connected Modular, have the same quality (and price!) as for any other “normal” Carrera, including the 02T.

The first time I had this watch in my hands, I realized I wanted it mainly because its design, quality, materials, modular concept... and because it was smart in addition! 😀
Wow, I didn't know that you could have a "real" dial also in dimmed mode!

I'm really interested in testing the Connected, but would prefer to buy it pre-owned to get the price down a bit. Not really sure if I'd like a smart watch or if I should just stick to mechanical watches.😉

Yes 😀, you can set the screen to be “always on”, and if you use the WatchMaker app, then you can keep the “real” face also in dimmed mode. Most of the pictures I post here are taken in dimmed mode, like this two (then the stw second hand shows battery level)

You can have both if you add one of the available mechanical automatic modules (Tourbillon 02T, Calibre 16 or Calibre 5) to your Connected Modular, and total price is similar to the “mechanical only” watch. For instance: the Connected Modular 45 with calfskin strap costs 1750€ + 2650€ for the Calibre 16 mechanical module = 4400€, which is very similar to the price for a normal Calibre 16 Chrono with same strap... so you almost get the connected module for free, and you have the modular system in addition.

And the modular concept of this watch is great: you can easily play combining its lugs, straps, buckles, and modules (and changing watch faces in the connected module) in few seconds! This is my collection of straps at the moment... this modularity is very addictive! 😁

Probably not very popular on this forum, but here is one of my favourite Eberhard Traversetolo.

Thanks for your comments! Yes that Calibre 16 module looks very tempting and it looked really good when my AD had it in store and I could try it on.

The only bad thing I experienced when I tried the watch about a year ago was that the Modular 45 is a really big watch. I'd probably wear the 41, but off course you want that extra large screen if you can.

Well, we'll see what happens in the future!

You’re welcome! 😀
The only problem with the 41 is that there’s no Calibre 16 Chrono mechanical module for it, only the three hands Calibre 5. And there are also less accessories (lugs, straps, buckles...) available for the 41:

It seems TH is considering it a watch more for women, because the only leather straps available -at the moment- for the 41 are: white, electric blue, and pink! For the 45 the available leather straps are black, brown, and grey... anyway there are still many “male” colour rubber strap options for the 41, and also the titanium and black ceramic bracelets 👍

Thanks for the comment on the different straps and accessories, I had no idea about that! The 45 felt really big, but was acceptable on my wrists as far as I remember it so I guess I just have to go back and look it up again!

Another custom Heuer 1000 with a OEM "patina" blue bezel and a modern Tag movement and leather strap. A nice combo!

Today my first TAG Heuer, this S/EL Chrono which I bought 22 years ago... really influenced by the Ayrton Senna connection to the brand.

I’m pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to get the original black leather replacement of its strap, when I ordered it in my usual TH dealer 👍

I bought this to remind me why Jack Heuer's Carreras are so good, but found I actually like it. Would never take it to a racetrack with the intention of timing anyone though 😒
