Today, as every Sunday with F1 race:
Lewis Hamilton’s CH80 watchface on the TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45, this time combined with black mat ceramic lugs, titanium buckle, and black calfskin strap... and with another GP victory for Lewis and the Silver Arrows in Suzuka! 😉

Tried one on for size today. Fabulous looking watch. I was quite surprised how svelt it was on the wrist. I’d not expected it to be as big and chunkiness a Seamaster, but it felt quite a bit smaller than a Speedmaster.
They wear a little smaller than you would imagine and the Daytona is smaller than a Speedmaster.

Probably a topic for the vintage thread but have wondered how one goes about this stuff.

For example, do the work yourself or a specialist watch repairer, collect the parts yourself, genuine or generic crystal, etc....

It may be off-topic but still useful info, as I've found over time . Unfortunately I am personally useless at the technical bits so it will invariably go to a watchmaker if any movement work needs doing. As Mike (#MRC) said we do each use different people on occasion but only because we are lucky enough to have a range of excellent people both in the UK and Europe, who can do this. Once my project (I have had a lot of projects over the years!) goes to a watchmaker, they generally come back and tell me what is missing/broken with the movement and either they have a source or I look myself.

If any external parts are needed, such as hands, crown, pushers etc I always have to find them upfront myself, as I know how scarce (and expensive) Heuer parts are. In some cases a generic crystal is fine-particularly if it was originally a mineral or sapphire. If it was a plexi, an original is best although expensive.

Hey Steve, do you have a source for original 7753 crystals? Yes I am prepared to pay!

Should have asked to keep the original one when it was first replaced by a generic, then perhaps it would have been possible to remake them. But I knew nothing about watches at the time 🙁

Not directly Mike but I'll pm you with an idea or two.

I've never seen that combination with the bracelet (is it the Autavia bracelet, no?) but it looks really good and equally retro!
