Hodinkee's editors pick their favorites from the '90s. Danny Milton picks the TAG Heuer 2000.

This article made me a bit nostalgic. I bought my first TAG Heuer in 1989 because of the brand's connection to Formula 1. But I was very surprised to see how TAG Heuer became the "it" brand of the '90s, they were everywhere. I bought them because of my fascination with motorsport, but my work friends (who weren't into F1 or even cars) also wore them too. Everywhere I looked, a TAG seemed to be on someone's wrist more often than not.

My favorite watch of the '90s was the S/el, mainly because Senna wore one. What was yours?
(Doesn't need to be TAG, I also owned a Casio Baby-G.)

Mine was a basic Gshock square, wore it for years. I don’t think I ever replaced the battery. Can’t remember whatever happened to it.

I also believe nothing is as '90s as a 2000. I would vote for my blue ‘Bill Gates’

My favourite watch would be a ‘90s T dial Speedy, Sub 14060 or polar Explorer.

Only being a teenager in the 90s, I wans't really aware of watches. Although I remember my dad having an Ebel Sportwave and his Sub, also the Seiko Arnie was giving to me when 18, this would've been early 2000s and also an 80s watch.

I did have this Casio in the late 90s and though it was cool it recording the temperature (very useful to a 13yr old holidaying in Mexico and the Canaries. Stupidly sold it for £50 many years later.

For me though definitely that Ebel Sportwave. Wish I could find the specific model.

I'm having a tough time deciding between the 2000 Exclusive WN1112 and the plum dial Kirium CL1113. I love both of them, the WN1112 is my favourite 2000 Exclusive, but my favourite Kirium didn't come out until 2002 (CL111A F1 Kirium).

 Same here. I had no budget to buy the ana-digi version, but I bought my S/el (CG1110.BC0429) in 1996 mainly for the same reason. Without a doubt the S/el is my favorite watch from the ‘90s… in fact since 1988 ;)

I could probably trace my love for TAG Heuer from this particular watch  I prefer the steel bracelet since it was both sporty and premium to me

I was also a teenager in the 90s so it was a few years before I got into expensive watches, but I definitely loved watches back then.

My first watch was one of these (this is a NOS replacement), 1/1000s stopwatch with a remote trigger for lap timing:

Then when I was around 15 I bought this Animal W003 surfers against sewage limited edition from a mate, who had lost it, replaced it, then found it again. This has been in my collection since and probably is the watch Id sell last:

What about your TAG Heuer 1000? Out of your collection, that one would get my vote. ;)

Me too. Really wanted a bright yellow one that was £120... who would spend that much on a watch. Hahaha
