I like the brand too but their prices are not justifiable, IMO. I think that is the Richemont ownership though.
I agree completely but everytime I handle or try one on it just captures me. There are some used Portofinos three hander that can be found for approx 2000-2500 Euro which I think is OK. However paying retail 15 000 Euro for a brand new Big Pilot is INSANE

Indeed it is and you can only imagine what the prices are like down under in rip-off Australia.

I have got my eye on an Pilot's Spitfire Chronograph (IW3878): https://www.chrono24.com.au/iwc/pil...let-and-stainless-steel-bezel--id11259068.htm, for example.

Such a clean and iconic look. But also pricey for a 9 year old watch... The socialist Swedish regime steals 25% of the price as "import tax" so for me that one would be about the same price as a brand new pilots chrono with the 7750 based movement.

Agree with that, and also the pricing. I fell in love with an IWC while sheltering in their store at Goodwood a couple of years ago, it was beautifully made, lightweight, anti-mag, every detail was perfect - one of the best executed watches I've seen, like the opposite of a tag pilots watch. The only issue was the £4k price, at half that I would have bought it on the spot.

The dial reminds me of my Sel Chronometer, only larger.

Yeah, it's that circle in a circle look...

Looks great - very similar to one of the THs that got me into the brand, a 2000 that I still have.

Jings that’s busy. I’d need a good instruction book for that. Congrats.

Busy..... you aren't kidding. It looks like a Navitimer only, somehow, uglier.

Well if that isn't a ringing endorsement then I don't know what is... 😜

Actually, now it reminds of the head of the Demogorgon from series 1 of Stranger Things 😀.
