The blue and black do nothing for me, but the green just looks so good with the steel bezel in my opinion!

Yeah, somehow it looks way more 'expensive' than the blue or black ... and close up the black is kinda brown too.

I find it quite hilarious how when the 40mm Aquaracers came out I really didn't like them that much and I would NEVER have thought I would have bought one.
Funny how that goes, I felt the same way initially about the 300's

Your silver 300 is the only one that might change my mind

I am the complete opposite. I was initially drawn to the Aquaracer 300, ended up with the Seamaster, but didn’t rest until I got the Aquaracer. The only question for me, was which one. The more I look at other models, the more I come back to potentially buying another Aquaracer 300 or even 200.

I kind of still wish I had also bought the Bamford one, but I just could not get past a couple of shiny spots on the bracelet in the AD which meant, over time, that was likely to happen and there’s no easy way to resolve that. I can live with scratches but not shiny spots. Happens with the brushed steel but takes seconds to resolve.

I've noticed a pattern where the watches I fall hard for long-term are the ones I initially don't get super excited about. Instant crush and boner alert means I get bored fast. I wasn't too keen for any of my current favourite pieces when they were first released.

Can't get a photo that does it justice yet, but will keep trying!

Congrats Rob! I think that's a stunning pic, better than anything I've seen on-line before! 👍

Same here tbh. It was head over heart when getting the Seamaster as I was told I would be sorry otherwise. At first, despite really liking the Seamaster, I thought I had made a mistake but now I absolutely love it!

In fact, buying the Orange Aquaracer actually solidified that. One ultra classy, the other ultra cool.

I have to say that both the Silver 300 and the 200 has drawn my eye a lot, when I see them in the window of various AD’s. I never would have thought Silver would be to my taste in the past, then I realised I chose my Black Seamaster because of the silvery chrome flip in the light.

Thing is, if you tilt the glass away from reflections it just looks black... so you can have green in your photo

Thanks Michael. It seems very difficult to photograph, if you want it to look green you have to have reflections.

Congrats! Looks of much higher quality that prior generations.

Thanks Hubert, yes it does seem like they have really stepped up the quality of these. It looks expensive IRL.

Not one, but two recent additions to my collection (alas, neither is a TH)…

First up is the (now outgoing?) Casioak GM2100, which I managed to snag a tidy discount on. My first ever G Shock! This is a really cool watch which ticks so many boxes; legibility of the screen could be better, and it looks like the newer versions have fixed this to some extent, but it’s a great looking thing that wears and feels great on the wrist. Perfect holiday/cardio/hiking/tool watch.

Second acquisition was the PRX Powermatic 80 with a green dial. I’m really impressed with this watch so far, and I’m not sure why I didn’t pull the trigger sooner; the dial is a wonderful colour with an amazing amount of depth, the bracelet is really nicely made and the Powermatic 80 is running only +4 seconds fast after 9 days of wear…very impressive.

Funnily enough, I got the same watch a few weeks back, also my first G-Shock. Main use for it will definitely be for holidays, summer events, etc. where I don’t have to worry about it too much. Been contemplating getting one of the mod kits!

I liked those from the start, especially the blue one. Reminds me of the blue 2000. I would be worried about scratching the bezel although I don’t seem to have this anxiety about the 2000. New watches do that to you I guess.

How are you enjoying your Submariner today?
Yeah I won’t be selling that one. Been admiring and reading about it a lot. Probably the best sub since the 14060m, at least for people who like vintage Rolex.

Glad to hear. I imagine it must be difficult when you have to wait so long for something as it puts a lot of pressure on, especially since you never know if you will get another chance.

Yeah, that is a concern. But then I thought... you know what, if it gets badly scratched TH will be able to sell me a brand spanky new one.

What about this model makes it so much better than the other Maxi?
