George, while I doubt they're planning that far ahead yet, I would have thought that (assuming the Monaco remains in the range), it's a 100% certainty!

The black one you are referring to that I posted on the other thread, was the one I was missing from the CAW211 series. Here's a picture showing all four.

 

Thank you George. This Monaco is probably the most iconic model in the brand's recent 50 year history. Like you and David, I am counting on the 50th Anniversary to be reissued, as it would allow me to wear my 40th, without being overly concerned of causing any damage to this treasured collectible.

Finally, I was especially glad to read that the 50th will become a very special milestone memento to you, if it's reissued in four years. And now that you mentioned this idea, I will apply that same logic to my 40th, so that it can serve the same purpose during my own matching celebration later this year. Cheers!

I remember a couple of years ago when Helmut Sinn took over Guinand and released 100 watches with NOS Calibre 12 movements, yes, original 1970s Chronomatic Heuer movements.


Wouldn't it be cool if TAG Heuer could find another 100 movements in a crate somewhere and fit these to a 50th anniversary Monaco?

 

That would certainly make it a genuine re-edition; no holds barred.

 

I wonder who owns the rights to the movement? Not sure if it's TAG Heuer. Reckon it would be cheaper to go onto eBay and spend $200k buying 100 broken down Autavias, add the usable parts to the vintage parts bin for re-sale and then refurb the Calibre.
