What’s the difference between Heuer Carrera CBK22x ‘glassbox’ and Tag Heuer Carrera CV211x

To me, the Heuer Carrera CBK22x ‘glassbox’ and the Tag Heuer Carrera CV211x look very similar.
They both have 39mm cases - can someone confirm whether or not they’re the same one?

They are definitely not the same one. Different movements, different crystals, different thickness, different dials, different casebacks etc. In my eyes far from identical to the CBK glassbox models

Thanks Jim. Do you know whether they have the same case?

Although the case shape is similar, the only thing the cases have in common is the diameter. Quite a few years separate these Carrera iterations.

Aha you were asking only about the case, now I get it. I think the bezel is thicker on the CV versions.

@thingziliketoo owns both and can probably give an exact answer

It's def similar but the 'glassbox' refers to the crystal being domed. The CV line has a small flat bezel around the crystal, while the Glassbox fits over that bezel for a more flush and vintage-style look.

Many thanks, all, for your replies.
In that case I should imagine the newer Glassbox design also better follows the proportions of the 1960s originals. Perhaps?

I would say this is definitely the case, yes. It's a little larger obviously, but it captures the original case design accurately and gets all the case angles correct. The CV211* case is a bit more rounded in places and although not far off, doesn't quite get it right imo, especially around the bezel and crystal.

Yes, but you’re comparing the recent re-edition CBK221 with a vintage 3647.
I’m asking for information to compare cases between the CBK221 and the TAG Heuer branded CV2111
The glassbox Carreras are "thicker" to accommodate the H02 movement.

My comment was in reference to what @imagwai said: "...but it captures the original case design accurately and gets all the case angles correct."

Here are the models I have in mind, comparing cases of the two 39mm dia jobs on the left.

Look at the relative thicknesses of the outer steel bezels. This is the biggest difference for me.

On the CV series, it also angles downwards instead of being flat with the case.

It’s arrived and I love it! I’ve replaced the OEM strap with a mid brown leather rally strap which I think suits it better.
