Just tell me when you’re getting sick of seeing it 🙄

Also, I don’t want to violate any Forum Rules, but if one of the vintage experts around here could shoot me a PM —> I’m eying an Autavia 1163V and still have two questions I cannot find answers to…

Here are my two: Tiffany branded Chronosplit R100 703 & a 2543. Both original to my father.
*Please note - these photos have been posted on another site by Felix R. That's my user name as I had trouble logging in using my ASF-NS.
Love this site!

That's a pretty eclectic two piece collection right there. Excellent bookends, very early Heuer manual chronometer to that late digital Tiffany. What a collector!👍

Thanks. It would be nice to have a few between the bookends.

Very nice dial, but I’m not sure whether I’m a fan of the BoR on that case shape… 👎

I suppose this is an original configuration?

Indeed it is...and being a double grain bor it's worth nearly as much as the Camaro itself! 😲

Since I wasn’t really aware of tricompax Camaros, I feel there's kind of a funny “twist”:

When Longines did a re-edition of their “Poor Man's Camaro” (dubbed “1973” - and I apologize for not having a photo of mine handy…), based on a 7753 architecture, they chose a design that tried to “hide” the hour counter to make the whole watch look more bicompax:

I now wonder whether they might actually have been better off by going for the tricompax design as a throwback to a much rarer and more desirable original Camaro design (as opposed to the Poor Man's ones)… Maybe even with blue counters 😉

LOL at this. The Conquest (their version of the Camaro case) was powered by the 30CH movement, which is a two-register column-wheel chrono that many consider the best chronograph movement of all time... which is why these "Poor man's Camaros" actually trade at 3-4x the price of a 7743 or 9220 😉

Interesting! Indeed only 1 or 2 Longines Conquest chronos to be found on C24 vs. quite some more Camaros…

That said, the price difference doesn’t seem to be that extreme (anymore? Maybe the Camaros have gone up recently?)

Example:

Is the fact that I’m still struggling to consider these vintage an indicator that I’m getting old?
😁

When it came time to replace the sharp edge Monaco, Heuer rounded off the corners, but stuck with the bold blue dial with the Silverstone. Photos by @ursmidur
