Thanks! IMO, one of the most beautiful watches ever produced...I can't stop staring at it. This example is stunning, the case and dial are both nearly flawless. Under a loop the dial has a few marks, and the case appears to have received a light polish, but otherwise on the wrist it just looks amazing.
It came from another collector, it is a one owner watch recently serviced by a respected watchmaker. It was described as a 2nd execution 2447, rarely worn with original hands and dial. The crown was replaced in the recent service but the original unsigned crown was included.
Yet...
The serial number is 62,XXX...which should make this a first execution dial based on my research. The other interesting thing to note are the hands; The black line extends to the tip, where on most 2nd execution hands the black line is only on the lower portion of the hand.
Can anyone offer insight into the hands and dial on this low of a serial number?
First up, another wrist shot on the way to work.
Then a close up of the hands.
