missing a couple connector pieces...but thanks to a gracious fellow collector I should have them soon.
Now that's some heavy artillery 😲 Amazing watch- what's the back story?
Always interesting to me (and reassuring I think) that true passionate collectors are not just interested in the 'what' but also the how/where/when/why! As it happens I stumbled upon on an auction site in Asia. As I've described elsewhere, there were 3 dark photos, a very limited description-literally
'Size- Case (Crown excluded): Vertical 4.5 × Width 4㎝. Around the arm: about 19 ㎝ Please note these are amateur measurements and there may be some errors.
Condition- Second hand goods · service completed May 18, 2017. Unused since service.
In addition, please confirm condition with the photographs.'
No mention of the magic (shhh, say it quietly) 'Chronomatic' whatsoever. A fierce 1 on 1 battle ensued, I won, I put a large amount of money at risk and a couple of agonising, nail biting, self-doubting, 'will it/won't it arrive' weeks later..I picked it up from the post office yesterday. Still unaware of the actual condition until I opened it. Voila. One early Heuer Chronomatic Monaco 1133. The response has been overwhelming and I am please as punch that I could help bring this into the fray and have it recorded for posterity. Of course, the watch itself isn't bad either! ;-)
