Tempted, yes. But on the wrist you really don't see any of the scratches, only with a macro lens. I think I will leave it alone.

Welcome! Very rare to find one of these lovely watches still attached to its original owner! You've really looked after this one beautifully.

Can you tell us the story of when you bought it? Was it part of the Viceroy promotion? What other watches did you think about before settling on the Autavia?

Thanks to CajunTiger, D.C and Hubert for the warm welcome, comments and additional Autavia information.

I was a young teenager when I purchased my Heuer at a specialty shop, that included diving, pilot and sports watches. I do recall first noticing this model in various magazines from the Viceroy promotion, but my purchase price was closer to $160.
I was financially unable to consider any other "expensive" watch brand at the time, but wanted the entry-level Heuer mainly due to its association with racing and the sporty style that it had.
